Yes greater than otherwise fiscal stimulus and unprecedented levels of debt. Good for short term asset prices but where this gets interesting is when the Fed's independence is tested as rates rise to stem inflation. That could be the story of the next decade

Democrat clean sweep in Georgia is proving to be a game changer. In four years Trump has lost the Republicans the House, Senate and presidency.

Perhaps not the dotted line but any significant initiative needed an actuarial tick to get it by the LOB leave alone the management committee. I worked for AT on one particular project and agree he had an awesome strategic mind, no doubt assisted by where he came from.

Hi Huncher. I may be getting forgetful in my old age, but I genuinely do not recall such a process. I certainly remember major initiatives needing to go through management committee review, and actuarial views being sought (quite rightly) - but not sign off. Of course, at Allianz and L&E the management committee was run by Andrew Torrance, who made the average actuary look innumerate. Certainly I recall actuaries (including Graham Masters, who you mentioned recently, and Kenny Leitch) being core members of project groups. But not sign off. But I can quite imagine this being the case at Allianz today under Jon Dye after The Great Hall Brettell Disaster. 😊

WBA1 Ouch - I can think of one company you worked for where actuaries were actively involved in the marketing process to the point of sign off.
