We would really fly if the bank of England / ECB started buying commercial papaer. Its not in the realms of impossibility now.

Compare the average yield over that period of time and apply compound interest on dividend reinvestment to achieve a mor realistic comparison.

Sound like the federal reserve stating they will buy commercial paper. I guess it derisks an insurance company such as aviva.

We will see in August what dividend they will pay us the 30.9p that is owed I would suggest is fair and equitable.

Then a dialogue should be had about replacing present management who have proven themselves not up to the task.

I see from this morning that the UK GDP has had its worst month-on month performance since 2002. It is interesting to see that the share price of Aviva (then Norwich Union I guess) was above today's level by quite a margin throughout 2002. Was that because the company was regarded as a defensive cash generator following the dot.com crash?

This is doing really well in spite of the circumstances - core holding intact - was looking to fill any gaps in the 260-268 range, but maybe this is at last being recognized as a "least dirty shirt" option out of all the companys that are going to be hit with poor results when next reporting -after all the money has to go somewhere and bonds are even more stretched with the risk of negative interest rates looming.
