As for the price of gold, $1,560 is the next resistance level, then $1,617, then no other resistance levels until the all time high for the price of gold.

Secondary reason ..

Gold trying hard to break out of 1545... as good a time as any

I think there will be one more rise in the FTSE when it is realized that Britain out of the EU is not as bad for Britain as many are fearing which gives us one last chance to sell out before the up and coming market crash.

Placed a new short on the ftse 7094.7

Target 6225

But given volatility, breakeven stop will be in when price hits 7040

Yes as BT I've taken into account a 50% cut in the dividend, giving a yield of 7% at 100p and Sainsbury's have already cut their dividend.

You expect those yields to hold approaching those prices?

On my market crash buy list are BT @ 100p giving a 7% yield after a 50% cut in the dividend, Sainburys @ 150p giving a 7.3% yield and Aviva @ 250p to name but 3.

Most of my holds outside of recessions, are accidental to be honest. Went in probably for 10-20% and the market let me lock down..and kept on going.

What's on your watchlist if I may ask?.

I don't see a buy case on BT untill they improve free cash flow.

I do not trade in shares, I look at myself as a buy and hold for 5 to 10 years investor, often buying back into the same shares that I sold out of.

@logan,

Unfortunately the next crash is going to be a big one, and will herald a new paradigm.

Nice position to be in and good luck with your strategy.
I'm heavily in cash atm and find it more stressful than being fully invested.
I have multiple watch lists that I'm refining atm.

Depending on what you call rich - I've got enough money that I do not have to fly Ryanair and I've been able to pay of my mortgage within 10 years of buying my home.

I've kept a very small holding in Aviva...however I sold out of India around 3 months ago and invested in gold miners which have more then doubled in price since.

I hoping in the next 6 to 9 months these gold miners will double again in price, thereby making me 4 times my original investment then sell. Wait for the stock market collapse buying back into Aviva which by then will most probably be yielding around 12%.

Then for 5 years not doing very much other then just sitting back relaxing and enjoying my dividends - well that is my plan.

That's where the analytics kick in though bud. Finding that money base to commence the lows

A crash in stock market terms is a very rare event - a highly compressed and very significant % fall. I've only seen 1987 as a UK example.
If you mean a bear marke (that's more common) then one is overdue as we are over
10 years in to the current wider equity bull market.

The issue with having cash to invest during falling markets is there is always a
high temptation to keep reducing the price you want to pay for a particular stock.

It's very easy to miss what turns out in hindsight to be a great longer term price.
Often better to scale in very slowly rather than trying to get the ..lowest possible price.

I'm not making a buying case for AV. Atm, just to clarify.
