10/7/2013 10:57 | To be fair to Avanti and all other companies at the moment they have been operating in a near global depression. The supply of credit to all must be having a somewhat stifling effect. | ricardo125
10/7/2013 10:51 | peterwaller395, As it happens, I resist insofar as I can the temptation to indulge in schadenfreude. But I am amazed at the sheer resilience of many in forgiving AVN's management. The fact is that this company keeps on missing forecasts besides indulging in curious accounting. It is never good. And that is why confidence cannot return to this market and that is why the price may well decline below £1. Simon Cawkwell | ![]() simon cawkwell
10/7/2013 10:47 | From my experience when things like this happen there is generally a long down turn in the stock unless there is real and tangible income/profit shown to be coming into the company. I expect this share is in for a rough ride over the next 6 months. | ricardo125
10/7/2013 10:43 | This is way overdone. More delays yes but not to the extent that the price gets this mauling. Evil is laughing I see ........ Buy more and wait, just wait | peterwaller395

10/7/2013 10:19 | Just thought I'd repost this little highlight from Results RNS 6 months ago (great comedy line right at the end! He never said which direction the transformation would take!!!): -------------------- Commenting, John Brackenbury, CBE, Avanti Chairman said: "Sales momentum continues to build very well. We operate in rapidly developing markets in Africa and the Middle East which are showing very strong demand for our market-beating services, with several HYLAS 2 beams already fully sold. "Avanti's customers value the resilience, quality and flexibility of our managed services. We are winning high value added business at expected prices in Europe as well as emerging markets. Technical milestones are now behind us and our forward visibility continues to improve. 2013 should show commercial transformation." -------------------- | anusol

10/7/2013 10:10 | Gekks - I just reread this mornings RNS and I came to the same conclusion. 2 things driving the lower figures:- 1 - delay/slippage on signing contracts (and one booked contract of £10m cancelled). But just 3 to 6 months by the sound of it, so all non-rec one off impact. 2 - Reduction in order book - simply because they appear to have switched half their forward orders onto framework contracts. Which is actually a GOOD thing, because most large org's focus on their framework suppliers once they've spent the effort setting them up. This will actually make income more secure. So actually the statement isn't that bad at all - not 40% share price reduction bad. HOWEVER, sentiment is driving this at the moment, and DW has possibly lost a lot of cred for undershooting sales by such a large margin, even if its just for 6 months. If he can keep the big Insti's sweet, then should be nothing more than a blip (big blip though). | anusol
