Watching this co and still can't decide what to make of it. The directors are sinking a lot of dosh into it, sure, but look at how much they are pulling out EACH YEAR(!)

John, If you bothered to comment on this stock when there hasnt been a short announcement from the likes of lucien, EK etc then I would listen to you but your negative slant posts always appear just as their's do..... along with buywell simply IMO to try and "disturb". If you want credibility then write something other than posts with a deramping slant or better still just admit that you are a trader that likes to jump on the back of the guys mentioned above. I'd have more respect for you if you did.....

I will not get involved in a spat with you on this as I know what your trying to do so dont bother digging out previous posts of mine to try and prove a point.

By the way... calling you a chuckle brother is hardly being impolite.....

A revision to the Cypriot corporate tax regime is not for negotiation, the government has underscored as it prepares to discuss a trade-off of austerity measures for a financial assistance package with European Union member states and international donors.

In advance of bail-out negotiations, the nation's Finance Minister, Vassos Shiarly said the government would rebuff pressure to hike the nation's highly competitive corporate tax regime, with its effective rate of 10%. Sustained pressure was placed upon Ireland as one of the first nations to receive a Troika bailout, with Germany and France leading the assault with claims that Ireland's 12.5% rate has a predatory impact on the tax bases of other European states.

The basic tax rate in 2012 is 10%.

I was thinking that as a result of their economic problems they may tweak the tax system to attract more foreign investment , so it would have a positive impact on Avanti's finances , but you're right , no one knows and anything can happen in an uncertain world .

No, no one knows. No one knows if anything will happen or what the hypothetical quanta of that hypothetical but ill-defined thing might be. Uncertain world out there so best to keep your cash under a mattress. Unless you live in Croydon, Tottenham, Stockholm or Istanbul in which case it might get looted or burnt down.

If anything really bad then I imagine it would be re-domiciled to Luxembourg or Malta.

Hylas 2 was domiciled in Cyprus to take advantage of the softer taxation system, does anyone know how Avanti will be affected if (as a result of their economic problems) Cyprus move the goalposts ?

We should have had an IMS a couple of weeks back , Avanti have said that they will put out an IMS.

They haven't put out an IMS and instead we have a Director buying which makes one even less likely. The rules of reporting require an IMS to be put out in a period between ten weeks after the beginning, and six weeks before the end of the relevant six-month period , the present 6 month period ends on 30 June (in 4 weeks).

That's the situation on most of ADVFN. I'm much more relaxed, my shares are paid for. If the share price goes down it doesn't matter much unless I want to sell...which I don't. It might be different if I was using margin.

sg31 - i did refer to 'so many posters' and 'half the board', there are posters that make a valuable contribution, i think we all know who they are, it's just that it becomes rather tedious wading through the hysteria sometimes.

Avanti communicates its strategic developments, financial performance and the development of its business to all audiences, including investors, through a regular series of announcements via the London Stock Exchange.

These announcements are the year-end preliminary results, the half year results, a year-end trading update (sometimes known as a pre close statement) in July and Interim Management Statements in the 2nd and 4th quarters. This reporting pattern is consistent with the Group's objective to move to the Main List of the London Stock Exchange which requires these statements to be published (except the pre close). Other than these announcements, only matters which are strategically or financially significant to the company will be announced separately via the stock exchange.

You guys leave yourselves wide open to TW / EK tactics, the nervousness of the investors posting hear is so obvious that the slightest rumour or comment sends half the board into a panic of buying / selling.

What concerns me most is the headless chicken response to rumour and conspiracy theories rather than intelligent investigation.

iii indicated an ims for today. There hasn't been one - has one actually been missed or were iii wrong. Has anybody bothered to check.

Whilst there was an ims this time last year i can't see anything from Avanti or their brokers indicating one is due or imminent, happy to be corrected.

It's hard to take this board seriously when so many posters appear not carry out their own research but merely act upon the opinions, information / mis-information of others. Until you take a more professional approach to your investing only TW, EK and their followers will be the only traders making money on this - until AVN eventually come good of course.

For the record i hold some AVN in a SIPP for the longer term, but also hold in a separate account within which i am happy to trade the peaks & troughs.

I agree Estienne, I'm afraid TW has lost complete credibility in my view, I regret to say and I would be very surprised if he is overwhelmed with subscribers to his new nifty whatever it is called sheet.
