Then, of course, "good luck to him" is oftened used as a figure of speech, when the opposite is intended, so both phrases apply.

Probably not the best choice of words. I can assure you I do not want any any shorter to win on any share as I do not approve of shorting for one moment on AVN or any other stock. Yes your choice of phrase is far better :-)

Why do you say "good luck to him". Surely that implies that you want him to win. If he wins, you lose. I say BAD luck to him, cos I want to win!!!

I noticed that Chris.......if he wants to continue to short AVN good luck to him but supporting fox hunting where a gang of men and woman ride horses followed by people on foot and in cars to watch a pack of dogs chase a lone fox till it can run no more and then tear it to pieces says a lot about someone.

As for AVN, well not a great start to the year to say the least but at least it is not testing the lows at the moment.

I think the shorters may have one more go...but it may struggle to get below 220.

AVN has been pushing up against a resistance line these past few days (245 – 250). Next few days will be interesting re near future movement. Should AVN not break upwards and out of this down trend then 200ish is a probability.

A quick check shows that evil is a) pro fox hunting and b) still short AVN. He doesn't seem to mention it in the diaries though so I don't think it's his most exciting trade. I'd have thought allot of Spread Betters would have closed their positions for the holidays and now we seem to be in an uptrend it doesn't look the best time to go short again. Maybe a good time to get back in / top up? All IMHO DYOR.

Disappointing but I think 2013 will be a better year for the longs.

No doubt there could be more dips but I would not want to be short here.

Afternoon G2, making lower highs and the trend is down, if it convincingly break's 240 with volume i'd be worried, a few buys might've gone in with the anticipation of a few tipster's in the New Year but fundies and TA don't quite make 2013 the year for AVN....we shall see, best of luck whatever side your on

In the interest's of transparency i've gone short at 239, stop at 260 limit is lower than 200

Warren Buffett says that long term holders should welcome low prices as an opportunity to buy a good company for less than it is worth. I believe Avanti will come good although more slowly than I would like.
