Shorting is no different to going long, with strong bull trends dips get bought all the way up, with strong bear trends bounces get sold all the way down. Just take a peek at the chart and which trend does AVN represent (don't be blinded by hope, that's not a risk strategy)

Number of times I've heard Fundamental guys holding on, averaging down rather than up & throwing good money after bad also doesn't bear thinking about. Anyway Rogk, clearly my trading logic is lost on u, good luck yeah

Rogk do u ever read anything properly? I said I bought back in at 240, it had gone to 210 previous to this buy, I don't want to catch the top/bottom, only a large portion of the move. Anyway, buy and hold, grab ya nuts & pray? Sounds like a gr8 strategy! I'll be there when the big moves happen but only after my capital has made money elsewhere, anything else u want help with seeing as though it's Xmas?

Bought back into AVN a few weeks at 240 after that brief bounce a few weeks ago, did this based on a morning star signalling a significant reversal (candlestick pattern). Well was proved wrong pretty much straight away when it drifted onto the 220s, yesterday saw the chance of a break of the downtrend since early October but didn't have the momentum to push on through instead posting a shooting star. If it had pushed through the downtrend today would've seen a significant rise. At the close of yesterday I had off loaded 80% of my original position and closed out the rest this morning. As a trader I don't think AVN has the legs to get to 250 let alone any higher for a long while yet. A revisit of new lows is IMO on the way.It's been a rocky old road for AVN with some fab lows>highs>new lows, whatever your position I wish you all the merriest of Xmas's and a fab new year!

Do you still follow AVN?
If so what is your thoughts on the comments re Filiago? For various reasons it looks like a bit of a mess in my opinion, for a start Filiago are still selling Astras service via their website and when Astras 20Mbps becomes avaliable to the rest of europe I wonder whether they be will be selling that too.
