10/8/2012 10:02 | nightspot - the position of H2 above the atmosphere is not having any effect on the share price It is simply a news trade, exactly the same as happens to a junior oiler after it has hit target depth. There is another news trade coming up as H2 goes through its testing phase. After that though growth company metrics will come in to play, the important data will be in the financial reports looking at cash flow and cash flow growth, backlog, margin and changes to margin and discounting them into the future whilst taking into account future launches. There is one event which I have no idea how to discount and that is the move to the main market. That will increase the number and size of potential investors but will only increase the share price if some of them buy shares. But we don't have a date, or really whether it is going to be near term or mid term. So news traders can't participate. So I don't think there is much in the price, so, for example, if it were to be announced at the same time as H2 coming on line then we would see the kind of sustained increases people here were expecting from the launch. I added more yesterday at just above 350, including opening some SBs as I see that as very solid support, and getting stronger as everyday passes. Of course this is my subjective assessment so no advice intended. | ![]() hpcg
10/8/2012 09:14 | Colva, I'm not claiming any points for accurate predictions! I agree with you about consolidation. I do feel however that some of the drop has been on account of nervousness that naturally exists until we have confirmation that we are in situ and all systems working. Intelsat 20 got to position some days back, so I too was concerned yesterday whether we were behind schedule. However, this morn I see that we are closing in on our spot. | ![]() nightspot

10/8/2012 08:00 | I haven't been charting AVN with the same diligence since I sold but I posted on the other thread (post 10080) that I thought that based on those charts that 345 could offer support. I thought this would happen over a period of three or four days. But less than 24 hours later it was just about there though it rallied toward the end of the day. I had a more thorough look last night and out of keeping with others I don't think AVN will now move back above the 400 area. I think there will be a rise towards 400 (maybe 5 to 7% but no more) followed by a second retracement that drops AVN below 340. Nor do I think that any RNS (when it comes) re 'payload turn on' will have any short term effect. So today's (and particularly this morning's start) price movements will be key to my hypothesis. | johncsimpson
10/8/2012 07:48 | nightspot , im sure your calculations are more accurate than mine so hopefully an update on Tuesday. Re. share price There must have been a fair few holders who had bought in hoping to make a quick buck(sorry) on a successful launch , the rise didn't happen and faced with a 3 month wait before H2 comes into service they're bailing out and moving on to the next "hot" stock . We've had a good couple of months of gains here so i would have thought a bit of a drop and some consolidation would be fairly normal ............ and it fits in with the chart. | colva

09/8/2012 19:48 | And it looks like 2013 could be the start of these earnings, with a forecast PBT of £1.9m (123% increase on the forecast 2012 loss of £6.3m) first profit for three years. And revenues jumping 216% for 2013.... buy on the dips...stick it in your SIPP....;-) | kimball808

09/8/2012 18:09 | RE Sipps and ISAs. Hi guys, all the above info on Bed and ISAs and Sipps may be useful but please do be careful. If you go into Drawdown there are other potential issues - on death for example - If there is a widow, on death she has 3 options, one of which is to take the fund in cash, if she does, she pays a 55% tax charge! In a Sipp (Personal Pension) she can have the full fund, free of any tax charge. A way forward may involve taking 25% tax free cash from your Sipp which then converts your personal pension (Sipp) into drawdown and taking maximum GAD as a taxed income. Once you are in receipt of the maximum income which is taxed of course, you then recycle this into firstly your ISA (To maybe buy AVN when it moves to the main market) and with the remainder going back into your SIPP as a pension premium on which you attract tax relief at your highest rate. This assumes you have earnings etc to accomodate the premium. The bit that goes into your Sipp is then IHT free again and you build up another fund from which you can take 25% tax free cash. This is an exercise you continue to do over years as ideally you want to rebuild your Sipp fund for IHT purposes and re create tax free cash. It therefor only applies to larger pension funds and you have to take into account that any ISA investment is NOT exempt from IHT. All I'm trying to say is do take proper advice or you will get caught out and there are other tax implications to consider other than CGT, namely IHT (Inheritance Tax). Believe it or not this is the abbreviated version!. Don't normally like to post stuff too often but having read some of the above, it just concerned me that one or two might jump in to stuff they may later regret. Back to AVN, nothing has changed and the future is bright but those who do not look to 2015 and beyond will continue to be disappointed I think. we need earnings that's all. | peterwaller395
09/8/2012 16:25 | I don't know if this has been posted before: London - 5 August 2012 HYLAS 2 is operating as expected. Following successful acquisition of telemetry from HYLAS 2 showing it to be operating nominally, the satellite underwent propulsion system pressurisation. This was followed by the first, and, at 54 minutes, largest, burn of the liquid apogee engine (which, over several days, is used to position the satellite in its final orbit). The burn was on schedule and successful, and all subsystems remain nominal. | ![]() nightspot

09/8/2012 16:05 | OFF TOPIC Yahoo Premier League Football Fantasy. We are running another competition this year no costs, no prizes , just a bit of fun. The rules are simple you can pick as many players from one team as you want but you have a budget of £100M which restricts you. You can pick various formations but to score you must have a player in all your positions whether they play or not does not matter you will score those that do play. But 11 players are essential. Only Premier league teams are included and Yahoo will allocate points to each player as described under the Heading "RULES". The scoring differs with a player's position. Yahoo determine which players are forwards or defenders so you cannot play guys out of position. You'll need to create a Yahoo account if you don't have one (recommend hiding your email address in case some odd people sign up this will be put on on some the stocks and shares bulletin boards) , and log in to use the fantasy league. Join the group (5982 this year) and amend your team as often as you like within your budget. There is a weekly deadline and your team at that time stays intact for that week even if you change it. Changes will reflect in following week. Hint: If a player scores loads of points and you want to sign him doing it early will get him before his price rises. You can only sell him for what you paid so no point in trying to make a profit for profits sake. Hint: To buy a player you must sell one from a position the new player will occupy (and maybe to raise the funds). You will need to sell someone to change formation as well. Obvious but one participant thought she could not buy someone because another of us already had him , and did not realise she needed to have the funds from a sell. Good luck!
