odd that it seems the big contract win + the the big director buys seem to be the catalyst for the stock to tank... a bit strange

and unlike most of the rest of the world. where i am in SE Asia economy is booming with 5% GDP China still at circa 8%. UK is a basket case though, deservedly...imo
East Africa where Avanti won the recent contract also flying, if this company was UK specific i would not have bought the stock.

Smarm I have worked in the industry for years and Avanti are after the top 1 percent of individuals however I know ex employees and the salary's Avanti pay are below the competitions.

Also the space industry isn't in recession unlike the rest of the country.

If a take-over bid comes in here, this needs some serious investigation. There is no stock market regulation worth speaking of. It's just a bloody gambling den.Insider trading is rife and us little guys get shafted all the time.

There appear to be significant co-ordinated groupings of 'sells' on todays ADVFN pages for AVN, which give a hint about today's strange share price movement.
However,some 150 trades occuring during a two hour period 1332-1532 are not listed. Very unusual for ADVFN to have pages unavailable.
Could someone point me toward another website where all of todays trades can be reviewed.
I find all your comments very thought provoking. As a novice I don't have much to say!

Aegon Asset Management changed their name to Kames Capital , they reduced their holding last Nov to just over 2m shares and could well be selling.

From what I can deduce, it looks like Aegon is doing the selling. They had c. 4m shares before the placing and it doesn't appear as though they took part. They would've been restricted from selling up to the placing as they were likely made aware of the company's intentions and so are now offloading. The good news is that the volume has been significantly higher than average for ten days running (esp. today) so looks as though may be able to clear Aegon fairly quickly. The bad news is that whichever broker is acting on behalf of the insti is not using much finesse and just dumping it each day. When cleared, which can't be much longer in my view, these should bounce back well. However, this could all be widely off the mark.
