24/1/2011 21:07 | Chrissey you can define it how you like but I'm sorry there is a differnce between the two but of course until it is in service it is not bringing in revenue but I'm quite sure AVN management know what they are doing. If I didn't have faith in the management then I would sell and put my money elsewhere. | ![]() yorgi
24/1/2011 20:56 | Looks like profit-taking to me, as anyone who didn't buy in the last couple of months is sitting on a nice profit. £6 has proved a good support, and has only been broken through once, in the middle of November, and then not for long. To me, this looks like a buying opportunity. | jezcentral
24/1/2011 19:30 | chrissey ... because ... "Avanti will now continue with a pre-service mission which is using HYLAS to demonstrate certain capabilities that are relevant to future business, and then will prepare for the launch of commercial service in Europe towards the end of calendar Q1." i.e. the mysterious pre-service mission is causing the delay to the commercial launch of Hylas 1 | marksnsparkle
24/1/2011 18:06 | well, if it is not in service, it isn't fully operational, by my definition of acceptability anyway. If it is fully operational, why does it take so long to put into service? | chrissey
24/1/2011 15:33 | If only Pojscott if only :-) I wasn't tempted to at just after the launch as I thought we would continue the rise but if only as you say :-) | ![]() yorgi
24/1/2011 15:25 | Yorgi--as ever I hope your right! I am sticking with it as I agree, wish I had sold and bought back in though, was tempted to sell half just after launch but did'nt. | ![]() pojscott
24/1/2011 15:13 | It happens in this game Pojscott as I'm sure you well know but concentrate on fact and ignore the short term share price as if all continues to go the plan in AVN and unless people in remote areas decide they don't want a decent connection to the internet then I'm quite sure we will be well rewarded in the not to distant future :-) | ![]() yorgi
24/1/2011 14:54 | Chrissey the satellite is fully operational, this has been confirmed but not in service yet.......or that is my reading of the RNS | ![]() yorgi
24/1/2011 14:50 | I think this limbo will persist until we have confirmation that the satellite is fully functional. I don't know why this is to take so long, they did say Q1 2011 and I guess there is good reason for this. It is just an uncertainty hanging there until they confirm that the satellite is providing services and earning money. | chrissey
24/1/2011 14:18 | Every time we have positive news--another contract etc the share price goes down??? I was up nicely just after launch but now I am losing money! | ![]() pojscott
24/1/2011 12:34 | Why the big drop today? | whiters
23/1/2011 10:52 | lol..probably got more chance of winning the lottery than colliding with hylas 1 | ![]() jonnib
22/1/2011 23:19 | Dnfa1975, As you say, very interesting, but is this meant to concern Hylas 1 in a different orbit? Should we all sell up now, d'yer reckon? John | ![]() 2350220

22/1/2011 16:10 | The stockexchange do charge for issuing RNS's. Can't remember how much exactly but it is around £125. Every AIM listed company has to appoint a NOMAD who are paid a retainer. The retainer usually covers the costs of scrutinising an RNS. | ![]() mjames20
22/1/2011 12:49 | Something in the back of my mind from the question in the past. Someone I know has just taken up job in the registered office of AIM mining company so she should be able to confirm what is the case next week | ![]() yorgi
22/1/2011 12:24 | I am sure. Where did you get the idea that there was a charge? | ![]() horneblower
22/1/2011 12:12 | Can you say for sure Horneblower that no fee has to be paid to issue an RNS or is it what you believe to be the case ? | ![]() yorgi
22/1/2011 11:25 | Not necessarily. It is part of the company secretary's remit and if he/she needs extra legal advice then somebody is being paid too much. | ![]() horneblower
22/1/2011 10:39 | ... and rigid rules imply legal fees.... | ![]() jimbo55 |
