01/12/2010 13:55 | Yes that should make a difference.....as from that time the revenue starts to flow ;-) | yorgi
01/12/2010 13:45 | Could be they are waiting for Hylas1 to become fully operational. | blue forever
01/12/2010 13:37 | Modest yes but they are putting that with a 6-8 week target which is hardly medium term in my view. We will see how quickly contracts roll in over the next few weeks and that will surely move the share price up | yorgi
01/12/2010 13:36 | Modest but only a 6-8 week target so 60p or so increase in that time is ok. | blue forever
01/12/2010 13:28 | modest target at Galvan Research: "Up to now, we along with the markets have viewed Avanti as an exciting start up, but with HYLAS 1 successfully launched, the company will now be viewed by analysts and markets alike as a maturing satellite communications provider. This alone will prompt a near term re rating of the stock, and will in our view propel the share price to new highs long before HYLAS 2 reaches the launchpad. Galvan Research rate Avanti shares as a buy, with an initial 6-8 week target price of 795p." | m.t.glass

01/12/2010 13:04 | Nice little mention on Digital Look's mid-day report which usually confines itself to larger co's - "Broadband satellite operator Avanti Communications reported a full year pre-tax loss as revenue fell but remained upbeat following the launch of its multi million pound HYLAS 1 satellite from French Guiana 26 November. Shares of Avanti soared earlier this week after the launch of the group's first satellite which, "is currently in orbit and operating as planned under our control," said Avanti chief executive David Williams." | ib1905
01/12/2010 12:59 | Thank you Restassured | yorgi
01/12/2010 12:49 | Yorgi - this is all beginning to sound a bit christmassy/poetic lol :-) | ib1905
01/12/2010 12:47 | From my broker. Yesterday Cenkos £23 Today Jefferies £13.40 Average £18.20 = 246% upside. Now where is my truck? | restassured
01/12/2010 12:37 | Where did you see that Restassured ? | yorgi
01/12/2010 12:36 | He might not see it but it will be a bright light in the sky for all of us in 2011 and beyond I'm quite confident. | yorgi
01/12/2010 12:31 | 1 December 2010 Avanti communications Buy Price target 1340p Broker Jefferies, potential upside 85.2% | restassured
01/12/2010 12:30 | You'll be doing well to see Hylas-1 restassured, it won't be all that bright. Here's something for the space trainspotters amongs us (i.e. me). | peetle
01/12/2010 12:23 | Looks like more interest in AVN is slowly pushing us forward again | yorgi
01/12/2010 12:18 | Your quite right Restassured......we all have a different amount of risk we are prepared to take but I'm quite sure looking long term AVN has a long way to go and could well be a very big company in a few years. They are leading the way ! Welcome aboard Restassured :-) | yorgi
01/12/2010 12:07 | You forget that a lot of us waited for the successful launch before investing.I was dying to buy ,but the risk of the satellite going up in smoke made it too risky for me to justify. I am more than happy to pay a hefty premium for security. Now that it is up and running the company has significantly derisked. We can now look forward to broker notes and positive newsflow going forward. If Cenkos's £23 price target is anywhere close to the money,a pound or two won't make much difference. I shall lie under the starlit skies and wonder which satellite is ours. | restassured
01/12/2010 12:04 | In answer to an earlier poster who wondered what kind of satellite dish might be needed: "..Satellite broadband, originally a decidedly second rate option, has improved thanks to the use of the Ka-band which allows two-way transmission, from a normal sized low-power antenna mounted on the outside of the house..." And from the same article: "The military is using a Ka-band satellite to pilot and control aerial vehicles," Mr Williams said. I wonder if this is part of what Hylas-1 is to be used for in current plans? Source article: | m.t.glass
01/12/2010 11:50 | Its a pure gamble on timing Yorgi. If I get it right then Im v. happy. If I get it wrong then I will get back in earlier than anticipated. Its a binary. In any event I look forward to rejoining everyone here ASAP. | bongo bwana
01/12/2010 11:43 | This sounds VERY promising!... The company is in talks with two major mobile companies, and hopes to announce deals soon, David Williams told Dow Jones Newswires. | someuwin
01/12/2010 11:28 | Well, his professionalism and optimistic outlook on Bloomberg this morning struck the right chords for this investor. Sold my holding to engage in a greater degree with PHTM. Expect to apply available end of year funds into AVN prior to RNS on successful commissioning and operation of all on board systems. | bongo bwana |
