24/7/2012 16:39 | Disappointing afternoon after the promise it was showing around midday......oh well lets see what tomorrow brings but as I have commented several times the general market is not helping. On the brighter side August 2nd is getting closer, which will make a change from hearing about torches and gold medals :-) | ![]() yorgi
24/7/2012 15:46 | re. the sharp downspike yesterday..... I was looking back at the chart for the last few weeks and, lo, I spotted that there had been a gap-up on 27th June which this downspike has neatly closed. whether you believe in gaps or not it's worth keeping an eye out for them. if I'd noticed this gap earlier I might have set my stoploss level a little beneath the gap on a "just in case" scenario and saved having to buy back above the stop level. take it a stage further and maybe another strategy is to keep a tight stoploss with a buy order just above the gap. | ![]() backmarker

24/7/2012 14:42 | I agree with all that Peter. Always the temptation to take a quick profit but there is no guaranteeing that this time the share price will perform as it did after the launch of Hylas 1. | ![]() yorgi
24/7/2012 14:37 | Agreed. We've all (or many of us have) been involved for years already, but given a "level" market, the fundamentals will improve significantly within the next 6 months following a successful launch. The bigger question will be who jumps ship at £5, £6 or £7 particularly. I'm in it to see double digit share price and hopefully, higher double digit share price The potential here is enormous and it's nice to be saying that when its' not a gold miner involved! | peterwaller395
24/7/2012 14:31 | Hylas 2 up and working, news of large institutional buys and further confirmation that sales of Hylas 1 & 2 are on target all or a combination of them could well push us considerably higher quite quickly but we also have to contend with the weak market for the time being. As long as we are making progress by selling time on Hylas 1 & 2 the share price will move on up in time. | ![]() yorgi
24/7/2012 14:24 | If the charts and the fundamentals are in sync and I believe they are, what I would really like to see now is for one or two institutional buyers coming back into the market for AVN. Eden and one or two others bailed out at arounf £7. I know we have M&G but if Schroders, BlackRock and JPM say, were to buy into the AVN concept there would be no doubt that £5 would be reached very quickly. Wouldn't do their smaller cos funds any harm either. For the time being, I believe like some others that a bottom is in but to determine a higher lasting price we need to see a stronger buying volume. That may be seen very shortly | peterwaller395
24/7/2012 13:52 | Afternoon John I did indeed buy back in AVN yesterday at 362 (61.8% Fib Level YTD High>Low) after having sold all around 420 although that drop yday was a bit unexpected especially given the momentum within which it happened. I am glad though the market has hammered out a bottom with that massive tail and barring any market meltdowns that is hopefully the floor for now. On the hourly a bull flag has formed and a break of that with a close around 380 would be grande and would confirm we're off running for the next leg up. AVN has one of the best recovery "bowls" i've seen in a long while and when both the technical's/fundies line up it makes for an exciting prospect which I do believe we have here. I was hoping for a longer break to get back into AVN as a nice steady drop/consolidation is much better for the ticker however we are where we are. In the short/medium term that 440/445 level really needs to be broken. I'm not a fan of the belief that shares go up due to milestones such sat launches (much like oiler's which when they spud the price goes down and investor's/trader's are left baffled when price goes down) as the market prices in certain known events. It's those pleasant surprise's/not so pleasant that really cause the movements and as i'm not much a fundamentalist I believe AVNs recovery is within the chart. Not so difficult to see where the momentum is :) Kind Regards | k0108356

24/7/2012 11:27 | It is a little like listening to all the different sects of the same religion. They end up squabbling about their highly subjective interpretations and missing the big picture. | ![]() restassured
24/7/2012 11:25 | Looks like a big bowl up to me johncsimpson. Of course if you wait for a breakout then you blink and miss 10-20% in this thing, going on past history. All just my opinion, dyor and all the other caveats. CR | ![]() cockneyrebel
24/7/2012 11:24 | I'm still betting on £5+ next week as the excitement builds upto the launch. | ![]() dolores123
24/7/2012 11:21 | looking good £4.50ish post launch not a demanding target with ample upside still to come | ![]() geheimnis2
24/7/2012 11:14 | Hmm those chart cultists are everywhere. Always telling us they are on the right side of the trade. Lol Chartfart. | ![]() restassured
24/7/2012 10:57 | AVN showing again how it can move sharply in both directions. I still believe the "launch factor" will see us back over 400p soon but with AVN being what it is and the market adding to the complications we can go in any direction and dam quick as we saw yesterday. | ![]() yorgi
24/7/2012 09:30 | Chart still curving upwards sharply imo. CR | ![]() cockneyrebel
