16/3/2011 12:40 | I suspect Cawky has already closed out, having achieved his objective and made his cash out of this one. he's certainly not going to admit his arguments are wrong, quite the reverse. otherwise his credibility and reputation is compromised for future scalping exercises. what I suspect is that he'll sow some further confusion over capacity/demand/pric | backmarker
16/3/2011 12:34 | If AVN were not offering a good package would they be winning contracts ? Ask yourself that question and the one announced yesterday was insignificant. | yorgi
16/3/2011 12:29 | Cawkwell needs to keep talking it down he can hardly change his mind now. There are always some that are so stubborn they will not admit when they have got it wrong. Won't be long the C & C will be back. | yorgi
16/3/2011 12:13 | Cawkwell, nobody is falling for it any more. Last salvo before you close out? | level 2 ate my hamster

16/3/2011 11:39 | Cawkwell Where is your info coming from? Have you persoanlly checked every one of Avanti and Etelsat's customers in Europe? I doubt it. Also, differences in pricing are up to service providers what they charge. If Avanti is so uncompetitive, why is it able to sign 7 million deals like the one it did yesterday? Why does it have more than 60 service provider customers who have made definitive commitments to buy capacity? The note from Cenkos yesterday lays it all out in black and white and yet you still try to peddle fear and misinformation. It's easy to compare eggs with apples and highlight a difference. Try comparing eggs and eggs though! In Cenkos note they found that Avanti customer charged £55 for 8mb versus a EUT service provider charging £36 for 6mb. Avanti's product has unlimited usage capacity, Eut's was limited download. Avn install £600 versus Eut of £700. Also, Cenkos estimate resellers are making over 150% mark up on both installation and the monthly charge. This is hardly a sign of strong competition! On a like for like basis, prices are about the same. YET AGAIN you have got your maths wrong. Get yourr facts straight! | blackberrydrop
16/3/2011 11:22 | If you upgrade to tooway's 8gb per month you are at 40 which makes Avanti cheaper. For once I must admit you are showing your ignorance. Gg | greengiant
16/3/2011 11:22 | Bought in today. Not a great deal committed at yet but as further progress and details emerge then I shall be adding more. | snickerdog

16/3/2011 11:14 | I'm quite a fan of EK (SC). But I have to say I think he's out of his depth on this one. | someuwin

16/3/2011 11:01 | Gentlemen, As part of the follow up service I have asked about Avanti (AVN)'s announcement yesterday that it had done this and that with its satellite. The reply was unequivocal: "There is no change. The price of Avanti's service is now public (from resellers) and is about 30% more expensive than AVN expect Tooway's (Eutelsat's service) to be on like for like products (in terms of speeds, monthly usage limits). I have no idea what AVN's business model is for selling at a premium." So keep selling Avanti short and ignore the CEO's engagement in bravado in buying yet more. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
16/3/2011 10:42 | Jam on it I guess Adorling :-) You are so right about investing patience being a virtue. | yorgi
16/3/2011 09:44 | Investing patience is a virtue - this recent drop will be a mere blip on the chart in the next few years. We should see steady progress back to over £7.00 as the customer base builds for both Hylas 1 and II. We all now know everything is working fine, we also know the market could be bigger than we thought - what more do investors need! | adorling
16/3/2011 09:42 | Unfortunately, I didn't have any more cash to buy, so had to use it to widen my stops on my spreads. So my average price is around 640p. I'm jealous of you lot at 420p!! John | 2350220
