21/12/2009 17:21 | Never thought that I would say this but recent sharp rise has been ..well ...unbelievable. I was expecting a steady climb. So now I have to reconsider. Take the profit and hope that share price will come back. Or hang on tight for what could be a roller coaster ...and be greedy ...and see it crash down. Ssords | ssords

12/12/2009 08:12 | To be really cynical AND extremely bullish This stock is an out an out buy because..... ... coal HAS to be part of the energy mix for the forseeable future. clean or dirty there is no choice as the alternatives are not there yet and will be a long time coming. For the medium term prices look strong and contracts are secure. greenest coal is nearest coal apart from anything. and nearest coal is ATH coal there is no getting away from it for the moment at least ... coal .... we got to have. This is such a boring company - I just love it . secure yield of nearly 10% will soon be discounted down to 5% in my opinion which gives a price target near term of £1.30 which will still be cheap for a company whose prospects have defininitly turned. | undervaluedassets
11/12/2009 16:32 | This industry a red hot political potato - carbon emmissions/nuclear etc. but ATH is well run, has great reserves and some good contracts. Personally, I think that as soon as removing carbon residue is perfected(O.K still a way off) coal will come into its own we have masses of it whilst all other forms have some sort of political adverse lobbies..I see us going for a mix coal/wind/nuclear/wa Ssords | ssords
10/12/2009 12:42 | Great recent recovery, underpinned by the respectable results | spaceparallax
10/12/2009 11:55 | Pity about the lack of press coverage this morning. (i.e none) DMail had a snippet in the market report and that was it. Decent volume and a rising price bodes well. | loafofbread
09/12/2009 16:34 | hard to find a negative and a very cheap outfit on fundamentals as well pe 7 yield 10 % debt being paid down balance sheet improving coal resource bigger good visibility on contracts going forward medium term outlook for coal prices good | undervaluedassets

09/12/2009 09:54 | Overall a good outcome - even a slight increase in the Dividend (I had feared it may have been reduced) - Dividend yield now in excess of 9% - excellent. 'Commenting on the preliminary results, Tom Allchurch, Chief Executive of ATH Resources, said: "The last year has been a challenging one for the Group with an absence of production, as expected, from our coal tip reclamation and regeneration business. However, our Mining business grew strongly, debt levels were reduced and proven reserves increased. With ATH Regeneration's successful planning appeal at Langton resulting in a return to production in 2010, I am looking forward to further significant debt reductions and returning to growth over the next few years." Taken from pre-lims. | dunluce
09/12/2009 08:48 | EBITDA in excess of £24m with the final dividend increased to 6.15p. Further debt reduction expected current year. Good result overall. | rossco
03/12/2009 08:51 | The 9th Dec it is. | dunluce
02/12/2009 08:40 | Nothing as yet re pre-lims/ Dividend - perhaps the 9th is the correct date. | dunluce
26/11/2009 13:02 | ATH have won the contested planning permission in Nottinghamshire. Nigel Martin | gnnmartin
23/11/2009 17:02 | GNN Useful checking. I also had feared an share price fall consequent upon the awful downpours - we had our share in Scottish Borders - but recent hip replacement prevented me visiting nearby opencast mine. Otherwise I remain convinced - there is a place for (clean) coal in our energy mix. Ssords | ssords
23/11/2009 12:16 | loaf, that worried me too. However, looking at the map I reckon that ATH mines are not in the badly affected areas. ATH have a web page giving the locations of their operations, with a brief note to each. Nigel Martin | gnnmartin
20/11/2009 09:51 | Looks as if we're headed for mid to late 50s support, which is a welcome improvement on the situation before the recent finance news. | spaceparallax

06/11/2009 11:55 | I'm pleasantly surprisedd by the strength of reaction to the recent RNS - it's better than I'd expected. | spaceparallax
06/11/2009 03:04 | the refinancing and the yield... they're solvent and paying divs. Also lets be honest in this global economey energy is up there. This is far too cheap reminds me of when i bought RJB for 30p at the height of the dot com bubble. | spadman
05/11/2009 16:14 | Interesting buying today - any ideas ( apart from potential dividend yield ) | dunluce
04/11/2009 12:28 | Thanks for that. | spaceparallax
03/11/2009 16:37 | Spaceparallax, Please see below with reference to the dividend- The interim dividend was deferred and should be incorporated into the final payment. 'The unexpected inflow of water encountered recently at Muir Dean is currently temporarily reducing production from part of the site and consequently, as a precautionary and prudent measure, the Directors propose that the interim dividend is deferred and incorporated into the final dividend expected to be paid in January 2010.' Info taken from the interim update on the website. We should know more on the 9th of December - propoesd date of Dividend declaration - Again taken from the website. Just noticed the Interims have the 2nd of Dec as pre-lim results and dividend declaration. | dunluce |
