Very grateful for the insight from the expert. It did raise a smile, but you did put it rather succinctly.

Cu holding strong over 3.10 whilst the relentless rise in the € against the $ appears to have been halted. Really good news for us.

ARCHIVED IN | touro mine
Atalaya Minning published this morning the pre-feasibility study of his controversial mining project in Touro - O Pino. The multinational draws a very optimistic scenario of the exploitation of copper and silver, a round business in less years than advertised.

One of the main novelties, at least of doors out, in the plan to exploit silver . It was known of its presence in Touro but until now this mineral had been far from the debate on the impact and performance of the mine. Thus, the report estimates the production of 2.1 million ounces of the precious metal at an annual rate of 70,000 ounces in concentrate.

However, the main focus will continue to be copper - already exploited in previous times - with 392,000 tons at an annual rate of 30,000 tons from "very clean high-grade concentrates".

Another novelty about the data known so far is the planned calendar. There was talk of a 25-year operation, but the report notes "two years of development and 12 years of operation."

Public data also highlights the "low cost of operations" with an "average revenue stream from commercial production of 60 million dollars a year " with a "total revenue stream" of 489 million.

To undertake the project, the mining company estimates a global cost of 165 million , but a capital increase will be necessary eight years after its start-up. The company hopes to capture 30 million dollars at that time.

"The main conclusion of this report is that the Touro project is profitable from the current evaluation scenario," says the document. Alberto Lavandeira, responsible for the industry, presumes that "the successful outcome of this study is a significant milestone for Atalaya and validates our initial interest in the project."

Investors have welcomed the announcement with enthusiasm . "Excellent update report of the Touro Project this morning, cheap to get, cheap to build, simple to extract and low cost copper," wrote one of the stock market experts in a specialized forum.

All figures for this information are expressed in US dollars.

Thanks tommy but not sure I see the point of issuing an update without including Touro.Their next update should be more interesting although it's all hypothetical until we get the permits.

Thanks, very interesting and IMO useful as no upgrade as yet, despite the positive note....so that is partially what one could be investing into....IMO and DYOR, I think ATYM will find a receptive audience with the instis who may want to be in at this stage....DYOR etc

OK..So still no value in for Touro..so expect an upgraded buy to come out soon

I may take this down later..Just putting up highlights

While we now include
the Riotinto growth project (to 55ktpa) in our valuation, we still do not include the Touro project in our full company valuation.

Riotinto and Touro could bring ATYM to a +80ktpa company within 3 years

This would leave ATYM with
80-90ktpa copper production per annum within 3 years via a two operation structure.
With the company still trading at a lagging valuation to its peers on its 40ktpa operation,
we see plenty of potential upside to ATYM in the coming years

The pre-production cost for Stage 1 will be US$165m, or approximately
US$5500/t of capital intensity, one of the lowest in the industry. The follow on upgrade
cost for the Stage 2 expansion to 10mtpa of ore at a lower grade of 0.35% cu will be
an additional US$30m. This brings the total cost of the 12 year LOM operation to US
$195m, or US$6500/t. Once again, ATYM has proven it is focused on building some of
the lowest capital intensity projects in the industry.

Well LLB and Erric I've now made so much money on ATYM that I can afford a new porch. But I hate conspicuous wealth so I'll just by a new door bell (which is actually something I need!).Even more difficult than usual to tell which trades are buys and which are sells but it looks as if we are at last emerging from under the radar.
