18/2/2017 08:34 | waterloo01, Could this be our year to shine? It appears to me that what we have is desirable. | acamas
18/2/2017 08:27 | Ian interesting link. Doesn't look like it's about to be resolved anytime soon. "Those two mines are currently offline and that's about 2 million tonnes - almost 10 percent of global copper supply – which is a big deal," Jefferies analyst Chris LaFemina said. It certainly puts into perspective owning a mine (any mine) in regions where govt can 'change the rules' to such an extent. Surely a mine in the relative safe harbour of Europe should be at a premium! | waterloo01
17/2/2017 18:31 | Orian are no fools, they are just calling a top to this inflated market, as are Blackrock, Goldmans, and any sane individual. Gold must be the preference of choice. | head gardener
17/2/2017 18:22 | No rp i thought perhaps you were taking to the stage. | poleaxe
17/2/2017 17:22 | Must say I am fascinated by how Orian sale will go. Could it turnout to be an auction? They should have a queue at their door. Definitely a sellers market or have I got it all wrong? | acamas
17/2/2017 17:11 | Maybe this is the reason copper has slipped today.... | rougepierre
17/2/2017 15:37 | #waterloo01, 'offload' is perhaps the wrong choice of word, it indicates a pressurised position, I think they could simply see an opportunity to sell on their off take rights for a profit with a rising Copper price here and now, and forecast to go higher throughout 17/18/19..., market supply could contract rapidly, Escondida will be a barometer for many other mines/unions/workers Who knows, but a key II looking to sell their Copper entitlement is all part of business.., they still have their shares..! | laurence llewelyn binliner
17/2/2017 15:18 | Yes, agreed waterloo. This rumour has been swirling around for many months now, so not really news as such. It will be interesting to find out who decides to take ownership of the offtakes. Have a good weekend all. | iankn73
17/2/2017 14:56 | I would like to point out that Orion announcing that they are looking to offload a good section of their offtakes is very good news as not that long ago, I think VAN suggested that Orion were trying to offload ATYM offtakes specifically. That is clearly not the case. It's not mine specific but driven by Orions needs. | waterloo01
17/2/2017 13:52 | I think we could be in for a long wait to get the Astor judgement. I believe a Judge can have up to 90 days to answer and the Plaintiff is not able to request a "Progress Report" until this time has elapsed. Depends on what work-load he has or whether cases are considered in chronological order, I guess. If this share runs true to form, no sooner we get some news which we think will boost the share price the opposite happens and then we look for something else to give us hope. Now I know how the Donkey ( carrot and stick) feels. | nedludd
17/2/2017 11:53 | eh? if you mean their offices, nowhere near...Queen Street... | rougepierre
17/2/2017 11:38 | Is that the one near Oxford Circus rp | poleaxe
17/2/2017 11:33 | Meanwhile, for all the serious thinkers, mining buffs and analysts among you... I've just bought a holding in MNOD (quoted in dollars but you settle in sterling...) Biggest nickel miner in the world (cobalt is a by-product); massive gold and platinum production but, and here's the kicker, they are a massive palladium producer... I am VERY bullish about palladium and also nickel is looking very tasty, let alone my stated stance on PMs generally... So when you look at it I am aware of the 'political' overtones and the need to get its act together on pollution, but if its good enough for Abramovich to own 6.5% its good enough for me... | rougepierre
17/2/2017 11:25 | Isn't that what I was saying husbod...the news release didn't mention selling equity... I don't see any reason for them to sell here unless Traf wanted to takeover... However, if they wanted to lighten their load AFTER the FY2016 and Q1 2017 results to help increase liquidity in the market and make shares available for institutions, that's a different matter... But IMHO that should only happen AFTER we get a full FTSE Allshares (and eventually FTSE350; FTSE250) listing.... | rougepierre
17/2/2017 10:51 | #RP, true, they could just sell their off take rights on, and keep their shares.., when I read 'portfolio', that could mean either/or both.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
17/2/2017 10:47 | If Orion want to sell out rouge it will potentially also create a massive overhang if there is no ready buyer/buyers for such a large holding. Massive overhang=share price decline. Mr 5k will be a minor irritation in comparison. However, I would have thought that they would not sell without having a buyer lined up otherwise they will be reducing the value of their holding. Why would they want to sell here anyway given the stage of development of the mine and the general upside potential? | husbod
17/2/2017 10:44 | It doesn't mention anything about selling share stakes LLB.... "Orion Mine Finance Group is in talks to sell a portfolio of 87 mining royalty, streaming and off take assets" Maybe they will use the money to increase share stakes, e.g. WTI.....? | rougepierre
17/2/2017 10:37 | Interesting indeed, if Orion are selling their portfolio, I would expect Trafigura/XGC/Libert | laurence llewelyn binliner
17/2/2017 10:31 | Very well offered at 148... Can only sell 500 at 143...going down? | rougepierre
17/2/2017 10:24 | Interesting find remarkomsoc. If it includes their holding in us it could trigger a bid by Traf (or the Chinese) but will certainly give us a new or more than one new major/institutional shareholder. Yet another potential price sensitive ingredient in the day to day life of a copper mining company in Spain. I've given up reading thrillers and just watch ATYM instead. | husbod
17/2/2017 10:23 | Great find remarks...looks like they want to raise cash...wonder what they want to use it for...? | rougepierre
17/2/2017 10:22 | CGH doubled...silver and gold resilient... Escondido looks like lasting a long time...why is the copper price down...? Overbought and readjusting for the push to $3 and beyond...? meanwhile, i wonder if the ATYM share price is being held back by investors who bought the placing at 142.5p lightening their holdings....? AIMHO as usual... | rougepierre |
