You keep a quoting the market cap of the consultant at 250. But as I've said previously it's the one at 225 that matters. You need to be above that level to gain entry. They don't want companies going up and down every quarter. Looks very likely, but not a slam dump. Also it's pretty much only trackers which will buy, and they won't jump the gun. The one unusual thing here is that most companies gaining promotion usually leave another index, so buys and sells are more evenly balanced. I'm this case I'm not aware of them being in any other index, as the country move has only just occurred. So we should see mainly buys. P.s. I'm only guessing that they are not in another index, and could be wrong. I've done zero research. |
You were the same on LSE. People like you are to be ignored!! |
"FTSE Russell, the global index provider, advises of the following indicative changes to the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250, based on data as of Tuesday 25th February 2025.
The actual review of the FTSE UK Index Series will be conducted using data as at market close on Tuesday 4th March 2025. Confirmed rebalance changes will be announced after market close on Wednesday 5th March 2025."
Number 250 is currently £437.1 million...
And we are £560 million standing equivalent to No. 216...
So it looks like we're a 'slam dunk' on 5th March...
Then watch the share price rise through 400... |
Hi Quirky. Have you changed your moniker?
Thanks for your questions and these are only my own views.
I believe ATYM will be £5 within a 2 year horizon and that is why my wife and I are back up to c£150k...our third biggest holding after GPM and SOLG...
I still believe it will be a £10 share within 5 years and you cite many of the reasons.
We still haven't seen the full potential of ELIX and the solar panels will be at 100% this year. The two will significantly cut production costs.
And even if you add in the ore prospects in or near Rio Tinto there is plenty still to go for.
Of course the FTSE250 inclusion and Touro have seen frustrating delays: the re-domiciling of ATYM took longer even than Alberto hoped for.
Touro seems to be pretty much there but with permitting and building the mining facility we won't see a contribution this year.
But it will massively increase and sustain momentum going forward.
Brock is right that it is fingers crossed for the FTSE250 but even if tracker funds haven't bought yet, I expect continued buying in anticipation of the 'promotion'.
Meanwhile the copper chart looks very strong, with the next leg up from completing a 15 year 'cup and handle' and the inevitable copper supply squeeze supporting my £10 prediction.
Finally, yes Alberto is rightly worried about a bid.
Sandfire are highly acquisitive and they bought Trafigura's fairly adjacent Spanish copper interests in 2022.
35 years ago I was directing a £850m IPO. We appointed Goldman Sachs as our bid advisors because we saw the risk of predation immediately after our float.
So we developed a 'poison pill' strategy by setting up the possible purchase of a sizeable associated business.
And that is what I think Alberto is doing with the Swedish 'acquisition':
"Skellefte Belt and Rockliden (Sweden)
On 19 November 2024, Atalaya announced that it had entered into two binding agreements with Mineral Prospektering i Sverige AB ("MPS") pursuant to which Atalaya can earn an initial 75% interest in two separate land packages in Sweden."
I hope this all helps. Keep in touch. |
Sorry BrockwL2 but if I can add to your post...
The FTSE250 is the next 250 shares after the FTSE 100, i.e. 101 to 350...
So imclusion in the FTSE250 in 8 days time is likely if we maintain our current 316, i.e, 216 in FTSE250... |
So not long to wait and may be some buying next week in the lead up. Meanwhile copper still above 4.70 usd per pound... |
Data cut off for market cap for entry robFTSE 100 and FTSE 250 is 21 Feb and notification for changes is 25Feb. https://www.lseg.com/content/dam/ftse-russell/en_us/documents/policy-documents/ftse-faq-document-uk-2025.pdf |
Just a matter of time - ATYM will be £5 this year |
To be included in the ft250 you need to be at 225 or above, not just above 250. Currently we are 221, but any share price reduction could potentially take us below the threshold. So it's not the slam dunk that some on here are suggesting. Also I've seen it suggested that date is 5th March and not February as suggested above. |
£5.00 will depend on copper price but it could go a lot higher depending on touro approval and 1st production. They have very low debt levels compared to most miners. |
Obviously!, I know, this is a big question!!, all depends on Trumps tariffs, China's growth, EV's, AI data Centres and the Copper price!:) |
Hi Rouge!, Haven't heard from you in a while. I have a couple of questions for yourself and other poster's input welcome. We know that Touro has been given a priority status by the Junta. According to Alberto in the last presentation, this will be approved June /July this year. This will double the resource. Does your £5 projection include this?. Along side this we are also entering the FTSE 250 & the interest that is generated as a result. According to the latest Investor Presentation from Alberto the infrastructure will be built and start producing at the start of 2027. We also know the company is a target for aquesition and Alberto has also mentioned that the company is looking at aquiring an explorer or miner of similar size. The shortages and squeeze on Copper is forcast to be apparent 2027. Run this alongside all the other irons the company has in the fire, what do you think the share price will be in 2 years time??, if they haven't been taken out!, that is!. Appreciate thoughts! |
The smallest in the FTSE250 currently is MCG at £431 million...
Overnight we ranked 316 in the FTSE350 and 216 in the FTSE250... |
Don't complain, as the last week share price went up 20% bit overrun. The case is simple: we are waiting for positive news about Touro, copper price, ftse250... And any of these will push it up! |
SP not impressed by the copper price and even falling. Maybe the MMs are short of stock and need sellers. |
Copper going for it - looks like a good week ahead :-) |
nice start to the week....GLA |
