11/8/2019 09:18 | -------- Another new test for Alzheimer's using SKIN --------- 2nd-Aug-2019 Scientist receives major grant for diagnosis of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's via new skin test This fits in with the title for my thread header , that one can catch Alzheimer's from another person because it is a prion disease AND Those same prions are present on the skin of a person suffering from Alzheimer's , most likely IMO in an advanced state. | buywell3
10/8/2019 11:01 | ----- Dementia became the BIGGEST KILLER IN THE UK in 2016 ----- And it has got worse and been the biggest killer ever since - buywell is NOT in the least bit surprised - here is why: Dementia becomes Britain’s biggest killer - The Telegraph Dementia and Alzheimer’s are now the biggest cause of death in England and Wales after jumping by a fifth in a single year, official figures show. Alzheimer's is the most common form of Dementia ( which is NOT a disease in itself). Dementia is the name for a GROUP OF DISEASES "Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia and, together with vascular dementia, makes up the vast majority of cases." ONCE you can accept the fact that ''Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia. '' THEN you can focus on the fact that ALZHEIMER's is now the BIGGEST killer in the UK and has been for the last 3 years AND it is getting worse PLUS at present Health Services around the world do NOT have a piece of valid test equipment that they can use to test a live patient to see if they have Alzheimer's. Sure PET brain scans are used in many cases BUT this equipment is very costly and in use for a variety of different diseases and ailments . A DEDICATED SIMPLE easy and quick piece of test equipment to test for Alzheimer's does NOT YET EXIST. The present Alzheimer's diagnosis is IMO therefore the most part purely subjective as many patients do NOT have a PET scan Things are now happening and soon a test will be able to be performed In other words IF there was a piece of 99% accurate test equipment for Alzheimer's then IMO numbers of Alzheimer's cases will ROCKET EVEN HIGHER Currently there is test equipment that claims to be able to detect Alzheimer's with pretty impressive accuracy You will notice the test looks at Amyloid Beta protein as in my header plus 'That analysis could then be combined with two other major Alzheimer’s risk factors – age and the presence of the genetic variant APOE4 – to accurately identify the relevant changes in the brain.' buywell has also posted on APOE4 NOW COMES THE PROBLEM IF Health Authorities go along with the presence of Amyloid Beta Protein , TAU protein and APOE4 being used as determinants of Alzheimer's --- Then it opens up a whole can of worms in the current arguments that these three protein determinants are in fact capable of becoming prion proteins when they get themselves misshapen . Arguably from that point on: Alzheimer's has to be classified as a prion disease Which means it is transmissible , and always fatal with no cure. Which is why no drug has ever been found to treat it despite around $ 100 Billions of monies being spent in the last 20 to 30 years by BIG PHARMA's trying to create one. No cure exists for any forms of prion diseases --- animal or human. | buywell3
