seems that AZN is just a currency play as falls fast when cable moves higher. But after US futures market opens at about 11.30am , the price here slavishly follows US price . daily swings are not big enough % wise to be able to make much trading it and
need a faster trigger finger than I have !

hammered today I see with stronger sterling on hoped of no deal being avoided . sad when dow futures roaring and I wish I had not kept a few overnight !

that sounds good I guess Cheshire . I tend to trade more nowadays either a day trade or keeping
a stock it a few days and AZN certainly is a good stock for doing that and better than GSK I think . recovering now after the correction but much now depends on how US markets perform and whether a mini crash happens there again

sorry for delay in answering as I was abroad for a few days . It just means " no overhead resistance" when a share price breaks through to a higher level not seen previously . I notice AZN down in last day or so with disappointing announcement and share prices of drug companies can be volatile I guess as a lot of news flows .
i am not sure if USA or UK is LEAD market for this stock .

a pity AZN is not for trading even though it is very volatile most days . Problem is that no point in making peanuts on a 50p move witb a CFD as poor % gain after commission.

Healthcare stocks were the worst performers on the FTSE 100 on Monday, as pharmaceutical giants AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline both suffered following reports that American lawmakers plan a legislative crackdown on runaway prescription drug prices in the US.

In a rare display of co-operation, Donald Trump’s White House and politicians in the Democrat-controlled House of Congress are both tackling the issue, in which companies ramp up prices of essential medicine.

The Washington Post reported that Nancy Pelosi, house speaker, is preparing to unveil drug pricing legislation “as early as this week” – setting the stage for an intense period of drafting before the political agenda is overwhelmed by the run-up to next year’s presidential election.

There are a number of measures that could be introduced, but at their heart most would have the same outcome: reducing the cost of drugs. That would hurt the margins of pharmaceuticals companies, including Astra and GSK.

yes, I notice there is and then 6400 is worst case scenario. might depend a little on how US markets perform and is US market the lead market for this dual listed stock ??. It certainly is for RIO which reacts to RIO in USA after 2.30pm

yes, really on the skids with chart support at about 6600. every mini rally today getting hit by sellers and goes to a new low for day . But this stock can turn around suddenly and go on a run.

well, it has moved up a cent and a bit but surely that does not account for the sharp fall today . However , chart still shows a lovely short term and longer term uptrend .
