Every bit of news through August was about cost of living and end of days predictions. Not surprising that the consumer is nervous. Increase foreign holidays will have impacted people buying during the summer. When people realise the world is not ending, things start going again.

The chart shoes a share price that has already fallen. It does not say anything about the future.A company is not valued on the worst quarter being extrapolated forever but on the likely performance over the next 10 years. We are at a trough in consumer sentiment. Government support and the easing of inflation will improve the environment from now on.

680 million is peanuts for a company of this size and capability. The idea that it will fall significantly from this already dirt cheap level is just wishful thinking for shorters.Do you people seriously think a mild profit warning should have a cumulative effect of knocking 90% off the share price?

Profit warning - in the space of 3 months net debt forecast to be worse than before and sales growth has fell to near negative.This is before last weeks news that consumer spending has and is likely to drop considerably going forward as everyone tightens their belts.The next update is likely to be a lot worse than this one
