You are getting ahead of yourself or more accurately ahead of the share price 5098 comes first.

Hopefully you will be able to see the gaps to the upside in the chart link below. In total there are five - 5098, 5712, 5830, 6200 and 6328. 5712 occurred on 10 August 2023.

I draw your attention to the RSI shown at the bottom of the daily chart. It's continuing to descend although it does appear to have 'based' on the 4 hour chart.

Also pay attention to price action at the Fib levels.

Thanks Mr b as ever for your foresight and pretty graphs. 5712 next gap fill then lol.Ps not doubting the master gap guru but when was the 5712 gap?, can't see it on your recent graphs so assume it may be a while ago?.

The 4980 gap fill will have pleased those looking for a buy level including perfido.

In filling the gap another has been created to the upside at 5098.

In the interests of balance I feel I should mention that there is still a gap down at 2889....no I am not suggesting it is about to be filled. Barring a major meltdown I doubt it will be. Just thought I'd frighten a few, yes very nasty of me.

Hopefully not before the price drops to fill the gap at 4980, and has given me the opportunity to repurchase some shares I sold on 14th Dec at 5372 (see post 62370)

Gap at 4980 not yet filled. The share price gapped up from the close on 13 December and opened at 5276 on the 14 December. The share price has not dropped to 4980 since the gap up. But look on the bright side. A drop to fill the gap is likely to complete the cycle and may provide a buying opportunity.

It's the way of the market. I also mention gaps to the upside when appropriate. There are gaps at 5712, 5830, 6200 and 6328 but they are not yet within striking distance. Something for you to look forward to fenners.

Those who were caught out by the good/bad news will want to move the market back up if only to reduce/eliminate their losses. Where the market then goes will be influenced by current events and Hybrid Hawk/Dove J Powell.

Viewing the current UK and Global situation I think Happy New Year is expecting too much. I will go with 'Hopefully An Improving 2024'.

As to Mr Powell; who knows. Last time he did a 180 degree turn from what he had said two weeks earlier. Maybe it depends on what Mr Biden has told him to do?

Happy New Year AHT'ers, although so far it looks like being a risk off start to the year.Will Mr Powell be as dovish later today as he was last month?, somehow I think he'll be trying to subdue market expectations in terms of the likely number of cuts this year.....who knows, he may be just as dovish and off we go?.

You too, Lairdavid. I am one of the etc and have been here since the Hatto days, but I sold most of my holdings far too early. I still have a small holding, but life is running out fast and I may have to cash in to enjoy the profits before it's too late. GLA for 2024 and may all your camels bear fruit.
