21/12/2015 09:25 | Morning all. Odd behaviour from Aht this morning on a blue day. C'mon Santa don't be a killjoy! | clarky5150

18/12/2015 16:48 | I've spoken to Mr Blackrock. He says tell those two to stop ganging up on you. Especially as I haven't been nasty to any female doctors.........well not recently. No problem with hubris,. I take the occasional dose of humble pie. | bracke
18/12/2015 16:14 | Hi bracke, I followed your link ... what do you think it is telling you? PS careful with that hubris, we've already lost one football manager with a similar condition! | ianwwwhite
18/12/2015 15:51 | Blackrock don't act as the principal. They are simply acting as fund manager, and as Ian says , the beneficial interest remains with their clients. What the heck, they're buying. | broadwood
18/12/2015 15:09 | Good day ian WHAT!!!!! YOU BEG TO DIFFER WITH AN ELITE GURU!!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! Such temerity! If you look at the link I gave there are major companies included. I would be surprised if Blackrock were telling them what to do. As far as I am aware Blackrock invest in the company but do not dictate investment strategy. | bracke
18/12/2015 13:51 | Good afternoon bracke, I beg to differ, I believe that Blackrock, is the world's largest asset manager with over $4.5 trillion in assets under management, in mutual funds etc. I would assume that the beneficial ownership is with their client investors, but decisions to invest are probably made under Blackrocks investment mandate, unless you know different? | ianwwwhite
18/12/2015 12:55 | Yesterdays gap filled but another opened today. | bracke
18/12/2015 12:47 | The increased holding is Indirect. This occurs when another company in which Blackrock holds shares increases its holding. Blackrock has not purchased the shares itself. | bracke
18/12/2015 11:58 | broadwood Good spot, it looks like they have increased their indirect holding by 1.5 million shares since the last RNS, quite a vote of confidence! | ianwwwhite
18/12/2015 10:06 | BlackRock increased their stake. One of the influential Fund Managers. | broadwood
17/12/2015 12:31 | Good morning godwin2 Re: Perhaps there is also a time factor - weeks or months when the exchange rate is at or near a certain point. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Possibly although I rather think that the natural offset between debt and earnings would tend to nullify this. I think that by far the greater influence on outstanding AHT profits is the robust business model, prudent growth strategy and excellent management team which have proved themselves over time. (IMHO) | ianwwwhite
17/12/2015 11:55 | Thanks Ian.... Perhaps there is also a time factor - weeks or months when the exchange rate is at or near a certain point. | godwin2
17/12/2015 08:43 | godwin2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Re 51560 Always worth remembering that a strong dollar works in the favour of AHT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Perhaps not as much as you would think according to the last Full Year Accounts: "However, a majority of our assets, liabilities, revenue and costs is denominated in US dollars. The Group has arranged its financing such that, at 30 April 2015, 96% of its debt was denominated in US dollars so that there is a natural partial offset between its dollar-denominated net assets and earnings and its dollar-denominated debt and interest expense. At 30 April 2015, dollar denominated debt represented approximately 68% of the value of dollar-denominated net assets 28(other than debt). Based on the current currency mix of our profits and on dollar debt levels, interest and exchange rates at 30 April 2015, a 1% change in the US dollar exchange rate would impact pretax profit by £5m." Executive summary (!): Or to cut to the chase, 1% change in dollar rate inpacts pre-tax profits by £5m | ianwwwhite
16/12/2015 10:46 | Rate rise 99% certain today. Anything else would be taken negatively. With virtually all worries which have been holding this back dispersed by the results, it would seem only macro factors can impact it negatively now. | broadwood
15/12/2015 09:48 | Probably still benefitting from the strongly positive article in the IC post the results. Numerous bullish points and a forward p/e of 14. | broadwood
15/12/2015 09:35 | Disclosed shorting increased to 4.03% (short interest tracker) 09.12.15 Lone Pine down 0.01% 11.12.15 CPMG up 0.19% Cheers | 2flatpack
15/12/2015 09:02 | Always worth remembering that a strong dollar works in the favour of AHT. | godwin2
12/12/2015 22:52 | Thanks bracke.DD | discodave4
12/12/2015 16:18 | Good day Disco I don't pay Golden Crosses on the Daily chart much attention because they lag a lot. I prefer other indicators. The target has to be the previous high at 1232 but there are a few possible resistance zones before it gets to 1232. | bracke
12/12/2015 15:52 | Bracke,Hope you are well. Yep if it wasn't for AHT my pf would have taken a bit of a bashing last week.Your thoughts on a possible Golden Cross in a couple of weeks if this uptrend continues?.DD | discodave4
12/12/2015 13:28 | Considering what happened to the market on Friday the share price held up well. | bracke
10/12/2015 15:39 | bracke lol!! | ianwwwhite
10/12/2015 15:34 | "No buy on the cannons, sell on the trumpets for you then bracke?" ==================== No chance. I prefer to loot the bodies after. Thanks for the link. | bracke |
