I'm afraid I took a bit of profit last thing Friday. It's incredible to think that my first AHT purchase was 18000 @ 27p, still have most of them!

I wish you well with your trade.

What is interesting is that there appears to have been no profit taking when it reached 1100. It suggests that there is a desire to take it up further.

Is it going to be 'buy the rumor, sell the results'?

A couple of new ID's posting on here today , made me think what a surprise it is that despite the stratospheric growth over the years to make it into the FTSE we are still a cosy little band of followers!

You know I can't sleep if I go short.
Have done very well up to £11 but cannot see it going higher, until after results,So I cash in, hoping for a bounce down to Watford to open a new long bet.
All investments still in place but if goes much higher I may sell some on Wednesday morning.

cheers

Sold SB at £11 Thank you Who ever.
Doe's anyone expect the share price to go above £11 before results day?
I'm hoping for a bounce off £11 to one of these watfords for a new entry point.
Cheers

There are a few but I thought I would not mention them. I don't want you thinking I'm a one trick pony.

What next? If it continues up there is the probability of resistance at 1113 zone.

US construction and house building picking up. UK house building an construction firm and more help yesterday in the budget.

Fracking going bonkers in the US and requiring plenty of plant.

You'd have to bet on these being in a sweet spot in the coming year imo.

All imo.

Interims on 10th will be interesting.

I'm afraid I am unable to analyse the accounts to the same degree you are but I will try to follow you.
I can see the headline debt figure will increase, so will all the others figures from the US profit, assets, ect. Will these not make the debt figure irrelevant as the debt in percentage terms will stay the same .
I think the bottom line is, do you think this increase will have any relevance when the results are read . (or any effect on the SP)

I looked back at last set of finals. Every 1% move in USD is worth £3m so if it were an annualised fall of 9% it would be worth £27m
Also there is a cumulative FX provision movement through reserves on the BS

Thanks.
As I see it its only a book phenomenon ,the debt will stay at the same percentage.
The importance of the exchange rate is only relevant when you bring the profits home.

If interpreting correctly, April 2014 final results:P&L - profit reduced by £41.3m due to foreign currency translation differences.Cash Flow & Reconciliation of Net Debt - Debt reduced by £87.7m due to currency exchange differences.Would assume for the period the $ was weaker (earnings and debt reduced) so as you say, with the $ appreciating v's the £ the reverse should apply - earnings and debt increase. Based on 2014 it was more beneficial to have a stronger £ given the favourable impact to net debt."Where is the increase in debt disclosed?"..... in the reconciliation of net debt included in the cash flow statement (as per previous post 50246 - lol).Am I understanding correctly ?, or should I try mastering TA instead (don't worry Bracke your guru status is not in jeopardy).Perhaps all will be revealed in next weeks Q2.DD

OK guys, lets see if this helps, what I was trying to say was:

The majority of earnings are in US D which has appreciated vs the £ so there is a gain on translation, however the loans are also in US D so the reverse applies and as the dollar strengthens the £ equivalent of debt rises.
Since we report is £ where is the increase in debt disclosed?
I suspect an FX movement directly to reserves in the balance sheet rather than through P&L.
So the FX risk of one element is offset by the other in terms of good/ bad news.
