21/2/2020 10:53 | Interesting price action this morning. Following the drop at yesterdays close the share price rose on opening to the upper trend line but then a drop of approx 55 points to 2740. Buyers then came in and are moving it back up. My interest is will it return to the trend line? Failure to do so suggests there is more retrace to come. A drop below 2740 brings 2700 as a probability. | bracke
20/2/2020 22:44 | Low point of the day for the Dow - about 4.30 when we closed and it took AHT down with it ! | fenners66
20/2/2020 16:39 | Unlikely Mercedes would have spent substantial funds on development without seeking some approval, and apparently Allison says FIA is aware, but it remains to be seen whether other teams protest, and politics come into play? (apologies for off topic, but at least it took our minds off a disappointing finish to the AHT day) | perfido
20/2/2020 16:21 | perfido Was reading about the steering earlier. Mercedes think it is within the rules but I'm not so sure. | bracke
20/2/2020 15:07 | woodyjmw Welcome to the board, glad to hear you are benefiting from Ashtead's extraordinary success ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ bracke Glad to hear you are benefiting too, you deserve some reward for all your hard work providing technical analysis and promoting the AHT board.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ . I'm watching the F1 testing/practice session, and Mercedes are trialing 'dual access steering' - I thought that was when the wife was back seat driving? | perfido
20/2/2020 13:16 | "I believe AHT management deserve some credit too!" ==================== I agree. I merely point out that the policy of central banks is totally conducive to share purchase. "I trust that you too are benefiting from the recent rises?" ==================== A little. | bracke
20/2/2020 13:14 | An extraordinary run going back to 2008, I think it was mentioned that AHT is the top performing share within the top 350 companies in the last 10 years? And still on an undemanding PE ratio. I've only come to the party late in the last couple of years but still up 50% and more with dividend reinvestment. | woodyjmw
20/2/2020 13:13 | An extraordinary run going back to 2008, I think it was mentioned that AHT is the top performing share within the top 350 companies in the last 10 years? 20/2/2020 12:44 | Good day bracke, You have your beliefs, I have mine :-) I believe AHT management deserve some credit too! Still holding fast since my last declared sale 27th Dec 19. Going forwards I anticipate some consolidation in the short term, but see no reason to take further profits just yet. I trust that you too are benefiting from the recent rises? | perfido
20/2/2020 11:54 | Good day perfido What we post will have nil affect on the share price This is a cyclical share and the cycle is going one way thanks to the quantities of money central banks are pumping into the market. How long it will continue for I know not other than Mr Trump is pinning his re-election hopes on the state of the US stock markets. The central banks can either continue with the procedure until it goes 'bang' or they can try and ease back to cool the markets which would cause a market retrace The trick is to cool without a large sell off. | bracke
20/2/2020 11:44 | Thanks again bracke. I, like I imagine some of the other posters, am wary of posting too much on AHT at present in case we break the spell. This share seems to have developed gravity defying properties! I imagine there may be some profit taking tomorrow as other holders seek to lock in some gains.. | perfido
20/2/2020 11:16 | Buyers in first thing this morning to take the share price up to the top channel line. If the share price simply follows the line up it will reach £28 in a couple of days. Normally at the £1 markers ie. £23, £24, £25 etc there is usually some hesitancy but £27 gave little resistance. Make what you will of that. | bracke
19/2/2020 17:25 | Thanks bracke, both posts much appreciated both by myself and I suspect other lurkers :-) | perfido
19/2/2020 17:19 | All Time Intra Day High - 2768. All Time Closing High - 2765. Nearly at top of channel. (See post above). | bracke
18/2/2020 11:01 | Opened lower to fill yesterdays opening gap; very neat. And back over £27. The share price is in an upward channel which commenced with the December low. The top of the channel is currently at 2775 and the bottom at 2540. IF the current trajectory is maintained the probability is it would reach the top of the channel by the end of February. It's had an excellent run up since the end of January without a retrace. So does it continue to the channel top and retrace to support at £27 or does it retrace below £27? I have no indicators on the longer time frames but the weekly chart is being 'stretched'. | bracke
17/2/2020 14:21 | I would settle for that on a £1 a year gain timescale | fenners66
17/2/2020 09:04 | Gets 3250p target by J P Morgan | demo trader
14/2/2020 10:22 | High volume yesterday for such a narrow range. Buyers and sellers having a tussle. | bracke
13/2/2020 21:43 | May have been tipped in this week's IC. Not a great fan of things like this but we may see some short term interest. Doubt it will be meaningful given the mcap | davr0s
12/2/2020 17:11 | The share price had a rest to-day. I thought it might retrace to fill the gap at 2652 but not yet. In the meantime the markets plough on ever upward. Barring a big catastrophe (medium ones don't do it any more) DOW 30,000 looks a done deal......won't Mr Trump be pleased. | bracke
11/2/2020 16:44 | New intra-day high 2704, new closing high 2690, volume <>1.5 mill .. bravo AHT! | perfido
11/2/2020 15:15 | Don't know who will be the major contractor/s on HS2 but B/Betty plus what's left after Carillion and Interserve will be in there.A Plant,Gap and Speedy will be camped on their doorstep and all will get hires so they have to compete with each other for the business.Kier seems to have pulled themselves out of it as well. After the last 10 years I think things are looking up. | riley109
11/2/2020 12:04 | So the go ahead for perhaps £100bn infrastructure on HS2. I think the % of spend likely to be equipment rental is what 6%? So £6bn over 20 years ? AHT market share 8% So perhaps expect additional £24m a year for A-plant revenue ? Maybe that is optimistic if the cash is pulled from other potential projects . | fenners66
11/2/2020 10:30 | Hi Riley109, I have amended my earlier post 57677 to reflect my further thoughts on the Shares/Dividend position, showing the approximate number of qualifying shares as at the ex-div date of 17/01/19. Not an exact science, if anyone has a better handle on this, your contribution would be welcome. Good luck with your latest investment! | perfido |
