It's also OPEX on Friday so the lead up to that usually results in some 'jiggery pokery'.

It was largely the January fall in retail sales wot done it.

The US Market knows exactly how to react!!

Drop the indices, take out the stops (500 points on the DOW does that). Then when all the longs are wiped out and had to short to get out, reverse it and ride the wave up.

I managed to ride some of the wave on FTSE.

That US move will have caused considerable distress and a queue at the workhouse.

I am assuming that it was the release of the higher US CPI (inflation) figures at 13.30 GMT which caused the sharp drop but the subsequent market recovery seems to indicate the US markets are not too sure how to react....?

I agree. Plus the prospect of an increase in interest rate but also the prospect of US spending on infrastructure.

From an investors point of view, current AHT share price fluctuations seem to be being driven by the wider market sentiment, so probably not much to say until the 3Q Results are announced on 6th March.

In the meantime I'm still holding! :-)

I note BOD have had another placing which is no surprise; Directors remuneration doesn't grow on trees or as diamonds in the ground it seems.

The one thing that puzzles me is who is still buying the placings in a company that is a dead loss?

That's how us Elite Gurus hedge our analysis. We allude to something but don't state it. Thus if it occurs we say "as expected, see post XXXXX". If fails to occur we post nothing or if challenged say that it wasn't stated.

Such are the ways of the 'Enlightened Ones'.........somewhat like politicians.

I am tempted to post that the share price is looking weak but I'm not going to. Oh no, I know it's just waiting for me to post that and it will make me look silly as it has done previously.However........you knew there was going to be an 'however' didn't you.

Since the All Time High in January the share price hasn't made a serious attempt to repeat the achievement or even get close. A drop out of the blue zone and a close below 1975 would sound the warning siren. I'm just saying that's all.

The share price just about reached the black ML, has moved up and is trying to hold above a previous major swing high (horizontal black line).

DOW Daily Future is currently down 550 from yesterdays close. We await events.

The share price closed the day up 1p. Not a lot but all things considered a good result.

I presume some of you carpetbaggers were just waiting for an opportunity to take advantage of such a fall.
