Anyone reading tht RNS who does not know this share would read into it that the shares had been issued at a large discount not at the premium they were sold for. When is the correction comming?

They clearly think they can spend the money more wisely, sure that will open a can of worms here haha This was just confirmation of news we've already had hence the lack of trades I'd say.The negativity is mind boggling to me now.

Bear in mind they attempted a share buyback 2-3 years back but were thwarted by accounting restrictions - may still be an issue

That requires forward out of the box thinking or a Corporate Development Director who would know how to manage such things to best advantage. Or even perhaps a proactive House Broker. We get things done but could do better if we had a more experience and broader based Board. Stands out a mile.

My problem is, Great deals like this don't happen overnight, & the directors made the choice to dilute existing long term shareholders......they could (over the past 4 - 6 months) have had 30-40m shares in treasury just waiting for the conclusion of the deal.

Unless there are some delayed trades, half an hour in after a good RNS and 0 trades says it all!

So, why didn't Ariana buy them on the open market & re-sell them to Newmont?

I know! Newmont paid above the ask for shares in little Ariana...we've got a big boy on board let's take the positives. They could have done placements and given out loads of warrants like most do to get a shareholder like them on board. Instead they are a strategic partner.

Such a relief that we found something to moan about this morning!I was going to complain that the 4.1p is more than the current price and they should have done a placing at 3p like all other AIM companies!!!!

the issue of 46,185,387 new ordinary shares in the Company at 0.411 GBP per share (the "Subscriber Shares").

The Subscriber Shares are being issued to Newmont Corporation ("Newmont") as consideration for the investment by Newmont of US$2.5 million

46,185,387 x £0.411 = £18,982,194.057 or approx US$25m.

I presume this is an RNS error and they mean 0.0411. Such carelessness with numbers is not really acceptable though.

Interesting but it seems to be 7 years old!

hxxps://cyprus-mail.com/2015/03/24/mining-company-told-to-re-house-bats-ahead-of-copper-extraction/

Interesting that it says - 'The company is expected to start operations soon.'

So whats been going on for 7 years?

Shortarm- yes agree it is not an issue and obviously planned for.
Having had to deal with Lesser Horseshoe bats on a development of mine, I can appreciate how delicate the situation can be, delayed the project by 6 months, but happy to have created a better place for them, and once done we had twice as many a year later than there was to start. So it is good to see the company dealing with these things in the right way.

Venus- Apliki, there are lots of things that can delay a project, even with the best will in the world, some things can crop up that take time to sort, this for instance.

A NEW cave for bats is being created near the Apliki mine to replace their current habitat in an area where Hellenic Copper Mines will restart copper extraction, its chief executive officer Constantinos Xydas said on Monday.

Constructing the cave is one of the preconditions the agriculture ministry’s environment department gave the mining company to obtain a licence to extract copper from West Apliki, an area 500 metres from the main Apliki mine, from which copper was mined from 1960 until 1974. The company is expected to start operations soon.

Green Party MP, George Perdikis, raised the question of the bats’ habitat in parliament on Monday before Agriculture Minister Nicos Kouyialis who assured MPs the company had been issued with a number of measures it had to implement before mining could begin.

The party said that they still had reservations but that they would reserve judgement until after they had visited the area to see whether the measures were being implemented.

“Acquiring a licence was a very long process, but the company will fully abide by the rules and conditions given to us by all the relevant services, as we do with the operation of Skouriotissa,” Xydas told the Cyprus Mail.

Apliki is located 50 km northwest of Nicosia, and five km south west of the Skouriotissa mine, which the company also operates.
He added that the company had received several environmental awards.

According to an environmental impact report carried out by the environment department, a cave where a number of Rhinolophus blassi and Myotis nattereri bats now live will be destroyed as a result of the renewed mining activity.

Around 56 mouflons will also be displaced from the perimeter zone and the habitat will be degraded.

The department has ordered the company to create a new cave which the bats could use as a habitat and they must ensure that the existing cave is closed off before mining work starts to avoid trapping bats inside.

The company were also asked to create a new drinking trough for mouflons in the area as the operations will obstruct the animals from reaching the existing ones.

“Furthermore, as a mitigating measure the restoration and maintenance of the nearby ‘Mammari-Deneia’ shelter in the Natura 2000 network is advised as it has partially collapsed,” the study said.

The study has also requested that during the mating period of the Bonelli’s eagles (Aquila fasciata), found in the area, all disturbance should be avoided at a 2km distance from the birds’ nests.

This is how Mentor Demi just replied. Thanks for that .......It would really be an honour for me.I do extremely like the way Ariana is heading and most definitely help shape it as well.CheersIf anyone else thinks this is a good idea, please add a question for next Wednesday asking if the Board think this would be appropriate.
