19/3/2022 11:49 | Final Dividend A final dividend is the dividend declared by a company after the year-end when the company has issued its full years financial statements, declared by the company’s board of directors, normally at the annual general meeting (AGM). Once the dividends are approved at the AGM, a final dividend creates a binding obligation on the company to pay the dividend, regardless of when the payment is actually made. The effective date of the final dividend, therefore, will be the date of the shareholder resolution. Procedure for the payment of final dividend is as follows: – Establish the accumulated profits of the company – Determine the total amount of dividends to be paid and calculate the dividend payable per share – Either prepare AGM or EGM documents recommending a dividend for the members to approve at the meeting or prepare and circulate an elective resolution to the members approving the final dividend – Make payment to the shareholders and issue them dividend vouchers | xow98
19/3/2022 09:24 | What do you think drove us north of 6p last time? Will re-investors of the dividend push the share price north or do we have to wait for concrete news on the IPO, Tavsan 2nd mine timing or the Salinbas drill programme and development programme? If the AGM is in June they will at some point ahead of that announce plans for the third tranche of special payout and perhaps expand on any future dividend strategy. All share price positive I hope. | plasybryn
19/3/2022 01:46 | So it will end up as a collection of minority interests which can be managed by one guy out of his bedroom on the other side of the world? | zangdook
18/3/2022 22:17 | you see imho there are some things to take account of: - critical mass - own focus (a day has 24 hours) - costs optimization (on the corporate, not production level) - limited resources (financial and others - limit the possibility to feed the too many projects as needed) - having high standards by choosing to engage with the best only - not all of them etc - list goes on | kaos3
18/3/2022 20:44 | There is the other side of the coin if you are too reliant on one source, one jurisdiction. You may well know where all your money is all the time and then something out of the blue happens and it suddenly no more. I'll go with diversity, secured minority interest obviously . But communication needs to be forthcoming. | bigglesbingham
18/3/2022 20:24 | There is a huge business case against spreading thin and around. Conglomerates (true - different businesses - unlike AAU) were popular in US in 70s, 80s. They mostly proved to be un viable - due to the structure(s). And AAU is mirroring just that. As the growth will happen - even Kerim will loose oversight with time. Specially when the cash starts rolling in. AAU as minority will not even be able to vote to get a divi - if not protected by some legal binding paper. And then local sheriffs will take over - as they always do. Who will put them in place? MdV? | kaos3
18/3/2022 18:41 | Thanks anyway paul. Another one of the great unknowns for shareholders to add to the others. | soulsauce
18/3/2022 18:33 | Soul, probably but we need a financial advisor to inform us. All I know is a lot of the companies who pay regular dividend pay an interim divi before the accounts are published and then declare a final divi which in voted on at their AGM. | paul280i
18/3/2022 17:24 | So if it had been paid in one go would we have had to wait and vote for it at an agm. Or in two tranches would we have had to wait til June. Makes no sense. We still won't be voting on the amount of dividend as two tranches will already have been paid and so only voting on another 0.175p | soulsauce
18/3/2022 17:20 | Soul, we have not voted on the amount of the special dividend, only the sale of our some of our assets. | paul280i
18/3/2022 15:27 | Still no clearer as to why that is required for a special dividend Paul? | soulsauce
18/3/2022 15:06 | Fair comment - me included | plasybryn
18/3/2022 14:43 | Plasbryn, tell that to the people who reinvested the last dividends at 4.6. | xow98
18/3/2022 14:26 | konit, yes a special dividend but the final payment which need sharholders approval, the previous 2 payments were intrim dividends. · First tranche of the Special Dividend of 0.35 pence per ordinary share is intended to be declared as an interim dividend and paid during Q3 2021. · Second tranche of the Special Dividend of 0.175 pence per ordinary share is intended to be declared as a second interim dividend and paid six months thereafter. · Final tranche of the Special Dividend of 0.175 pence per ordinary share will be proposed for approval at the 2021 Annual General meeting. | paul280i
18/3/2022 12:43 | Lol Plasybryn 👍 | soulsauce
18/3/2022 12:19 | A fall in the share price is good for those who want to reinvest all or some of their special payment. Just trying to be positive. | plasybryn
18/3/2022 11:48 | These boards mustn't become places to mislead and lure in new investors. Give it to them straight, good and bad, and let them judge. Few of us would bother being here if we couldn't learn anything. | zangdook
18/3/2022 11:48 | Dixi that may be true to some extent but any respecting new investor is going to look at the Web site and recent rns and I am sure many give up as they don't understand it. If often we are left wondering wtf is going on, what chance have new investors got? | soulsauce
18/3/2022 11:43 | Just maybe this bulletin board becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy? I fully understand (and do so myself) the critique of certain aspects of this company. But to any potential investors looking at sentiment, this has to be one of the most discouraging places to read. But I guess it is a reflection of where we are currently at too. | dixi
18/3/2022 11:29 | not a final divi, a tranche of a special divi. | konil
18/3/2022 11:18 | Soul, I think it is something to do with it being a final divi, Directors can pay interim divis but final dividends have to be voted on by shareholders. That is why there were many unusual interim dividends paid during covid lockdowns when finals could not be voted on. | paul280i
18/3/2022 11:01 | Errrm not exactly paul, the divvy in 6mths, for some strange reason which I cannot for the life of me understand, still has to be voted on at the agm. So the odds are that you will get it but not a done deal. | soulsauce |
