Who in there right mind wouldn't crystallize options with dividend round the corner. I'd be more worried if he didn't have the sense to do what he did. Anyway move on.

Soul, I appreciate what's going on there, I was just stating a fact, the decision to do this was made a while ago, whilst I don't know the ins and out, I would imagine that once made then committed to it, bwdik anyone know any different. ?

We get paid in dollars and convert a bit to pay local costs so I wouldn't worry too much about keeping money in Turkey or inflation which only lowers our costs......

Renniks you need to have a look at what is going on in Turkey and then consider if a tax break is worth keeping a large amount of money there.
Companies having to give up Forex so that the country can buy in gas is just one thing as no-one wants the lira, banks on their knees and rampant inflation.

AND never was not using the money for a tax break put forward when we voted for the new JV.

Some keep forgetting the reasons they are not using a large part of the proceeds, this being the tax break from keeping it in the country, not sure how long this has to be, but it will become available at some point.

Great post Plas, 👍

it is just proverbial winter - but the spring will come - it always does - after the winter is over

I see it as gathering energy for the superb growth coming

Which permits are we still waiting for at Tavsan ?
Also do we know if the Tailing's dam at Kiziltepe is big enough to accommodate the extra mine life and tonnage of throughput
Certainly don't want any disasters as like many on here this is far my biggest holding
And although i am still confident in the company I can understand why a lot on this board are getting frustrated, as I am

Of course that may happen Shortarm but as I have said before I don't see the benefit of sitting on all that cash in a Turkish bank with rampant inflation.

But I think you missed the point. If that is all we were going to do with the money we should have kept 50% of the Turkish assets.

Not bored at all Plasybryn, great post.

I think the reason for some of the selling is as I stated in my apology to Temujiin.
The thinking, certainly by me but I don't think I would have been alone, was that the money would have been invested to take the valuation on and make up for what we had given up.
Unfortunately what we have done so far is invest bits in projects far away from any significant value recognition. Very disappointing and given Tavsan is still not in production that gap you are on about Plasybryn has not been filled.

Sorry to see you guys so hurt, personally I am feeling very happy today having had a chance too top up at at these levels. Looking forward to a now larger divi in March.
For what its worth I may as well declare that my sentiments are in complete agreement with BB, and don't really understand why most of you are still here, please enlighten me.

In other news though great to see gold bounce back so quickly. That might be quite significant and hopefully it can start making ground to 1900 and beyond.

I don't think any of us are asking for it to be ramped up biggles for short term gain.
As you know most of us have given more years up to this than we would care to remember.
I would agree production is well run but I would argue it is not totally a well run company for the many reasons we have stated on here at length which let it down.
If we had continued with the Gantt charts we would have continued to see how often they fail to keep to timelines, new mill being the exception.
We also know they are short at management level, the main man in charge doing it remotely.
There are a lot of things right here but quite a bit wrong too so I can't agree it is run exceptionally well.

Yes, as I have said before, it is being run exceptionally well, but not for the benefit of shareholders who are looking for a profit in the next few months.

Many people, of which I am one, cannot afford to keep their money tied up unproductively for a long time.
