31/1/2022 17:08 | From memory, there were "significant tax breaks" to keeping the money in Turkey, so it is unlikely that we have transferred much of the money out and are therefore unable to invest it in new projects outside of Turkey. Not sure when the tax breaks work through the system but can't see us being able to make many big investments until we can get the cash out. It is also the reason that the dividend was split into 3 installments as the dividend needs to be paid from the UK, presumably out of dividends earned from the JV which can be transferred out. My guess is that Ariana weren't aware of the "significant tax breaks" when they initially floated the 50% of net proceeds dividend and had to row back to installments once they found out that cash flows would not permit a one-off payment of 50% of net proceeds. Either that or their communication skills(?) were severely lacking when they issued the original RNS. | ![]() xow98
31/1/2022 17:04 | soul, the bright spots are the reduction in political risk by becoming a minority partner with a local majority partner, and reduction in country exposure by realising some of the embedded value as cash. also, not too bothered by the slow investment, better that than rushing into this that and the other ill considered expendititure as many managements do when they have surplus cash, only to find in time that all the cash has benn frittered away with little to show for it. but otherwise, yes, all a bit tedious and overdue and tranching the divvy was a low blow, almost like they dont trust the shareholders, sure some may have bolted but so what, better those are out anyway. better company comms on latest status, even just advising delays with some explanation, would do much to quell the criticism i feel. | ![]() konil
31/1/2022 16:27 | Well tomorrow is Tuesday so my guess is an RNS on the 2nd dividend payment dates | ![]() doinnuthing
31/1/2022 16:15 | Alas, this company has regressed into one that is run by the directors for the directors. They have their plans, they will work towards their goals, and they will totally ignore the majority of shareholders on the way. One day the company's strategy and the shareholders' requirements will come together but that will not be because the company has changed its ways. | ![]() jaf1948
31/1/2022 14:36 | If only it was for an institution Plasybryn. That ship has sailed I am afraid. Another opportunity missed by our wonderful broker and our carefree Ceo. Edit: unfortunately at times careless Ceo. | ![]() soulsauce
31/1/2022 14:20 | I bought a few more last week as I thought gold was breaking out. As usual I was premature. | ![]() plasybryn
31/1/2022 14:19 | There seems to be a lot of important missed deadlines. You can see why they don't want to offer shareholders a Gantt Chart. But hopefully it means lots of accretive news is backing up. But with no need for funding they do seem to becoming ever more complacent about a coherent communications strategy. Perhaps an undervalued share price suits them. Helping an Institution get on board at a bargain price perhaps. I've made my thoughts known to Henry at Yellow Jersey for what it is worth. | ![]() plasybryn
31/1/2022 13:55 | Can't blame folk for looking for greener pastures Shortarm. It's been a very slow start to the year here given what we are supposed to be doing and it's being made all the more difficult by the dripping away of the share price which has been in a downtrend since last June. Still there is no intention of changing anything at the company regarding comms'/promotion etc so there is nothing to stop it drifting further. | ![]() soulsauce

28/1/2022 13:05 | dixi most definitely. Shortarm well yes and no. If they wanted to buy in to the equity of a company then yes but if they were wanting to buy in to a JV where most metals have significantly increased then no. Renniks of course you could be right but I have little confidence in Tavsan being in production for early 23. It's already many years behind and they were still drilling as of last week so it will be March/April at the earliest before they get assays to complete the feasibility study and then sort out financing as well as jump through hoops for the remaining permitry. If Kiziltepe is anything to go by I would be surprised if they are laying foundations before the end of the year. As for things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, lol isn't that half the problem here? | ![]() soulsauce
28/1/2022 12:58 | Thats a great point Shortarm. | ![]() thanksamillion
28/1/2022 12:45 | Soul, we might be surprised when it comes to getting Tavsan up and running, we had very little info about the mill upgrade, and that was brought online well within program and with very little fuss, I tend to think that this is where the new JV will excel, I certainly think that there is lots more going on behind the scenes than we know, and we know a lot already of what is coming. Jaff hit the nail on the head with his last post, but I do not underestimate what these guys can do, especially where it matters to them and the business, not so concerned about share price and holders for the shot term, as they don't need anything from us. I strongly believe that they will deliver on all fronts, quietly, steadily and safely, the share price will catch up, all in due course. More worried about other positions than mine here, markets get spooked and no one is left unscathed. Would news flow at this time have made a big difference in SP, The great half yearly report didn't, they aren't keeping anything significant back, as not allowed, so thinking they are just getting the job done, what ever job they are on with, but would be good to know what, doesn't cause any sleepless nights though. Happy Friday and roll on next week! War, famine, missile tests, covid. ATH's who knows. | ![]() renniks2016
28/1/2022 12:45 | They did say they are working on more deals...To counter your argument I would say that the purchasing power of our cash has pretty much doubled due to the decline of all explorers and the difficulty in getting finance....... | ![]() shortarm
28/1/2022 12:42 | AAU really should be on the Twitter charm offensive. As to whether it would make a difference currently is another matter. But PR is part of what every business engages it's customers with, and can do no harm. No excuses really. | ![]() dixi
28/1/2022 12:08 | What is just as annoying is why the bulk of the deal money has not been invested somewhere. Surely giving up a large chunk of what we had in Turkey was not for the money to just sit in the bank and decline in value as inflation ravages. | ![]() soulsauce
28/1/2022 11:57 | Thanksamillion you are right many small miners charts reflect that of Ariana but that should not excuse the lack of promotion here, the lack of news and the glacial state at which our projects seem to move. Tavsan is continuing to fall behind and imo there is very little hope of the early 23 production target of the recent presentation. | ![]() soulsauce
28/1/2022 10:21 | I'll try again Panther Metals(AU) in which aau holds a stake is up 24.39% from issue in December. | ![]() thanksamillion
