If there is nothing much new to discuss I don't understand AAU going down the same route in appealing to a room full of PI's that probably already hold and know most of what is happening. Hopefully they will get institutional attendance with a willingness to invest.

yes, I think you are probably right.....people attending will just have to ask the right loaded questions and watch for facial expressions! Any poker players amongst us, or is it only patience we are good at?

I agree biggles. As I understand it any news that is price affecting has to be released in the public domain, not in a closed meeting.

Something tells me no. It gives people an unfair advantage in terms of calculating assets preparing for a buy when market opens. They've had 12 hours to digest and assimilate the news and implications everyone else reliant on rns has had max an hour. I may be wrong but there is a definite advantage to know info for 12 hours before market open than one hour. Just my opinion but don't you agree??

Biggles Wouldn't it be ok at the evening meeting, when all markets were closed, provided an RNS was released the following morning before the markets opened? There surely has to be instances when information is given to only a subset of shareholders/ bondholders during, for example, a placing?

I don't think they are allowed to give new info at a meeting to small number of individuals it wouldn't be legal

Disappointed that we haven't had the quarterlies this week, which has resulted in the share price languishing yet again. Hard to believe we seemed comfortable at 2.5p relatively recently, now 20% off despite no bad news whatsoever (other than political). The share price hasn't recovered from the knock it received with the Syria infiltration by the Turkish army (remember that, seems an age ago?). I can only surmise that that the board want fresh news releases next week to give a basis for the presentations on 25th. I note in the RNS the usual disclaimer of 'no new information' at those meetings.

Really hope you are right Biggles. A properly coordinated and planned drip feed release of information leading up to the Monday 25th Analyst and investor communications day, aimed at really changing perceptions, laying out the strategy and enforcing the transformational free cash flow tipping point. Let's pray they don't let this moment of momentum pass. Go for it Ariana.

I don't think it will be price of gold I think a tipster will get it based upon all info coming out and I think it will snowball . Everyone invested will be scratching their head as to what sparked it but basically people will be catching on to how undervalued it is.

What is likely to light the fuse is the price of gold and silver. Earlier this summer the price of gold jumped from the 1300's into the 1400's and on into the 1500's, ending the bear market. It's now hit a short-term low around 1450 and is currently heading back to the 1500 level. Next year, the market sees higher prices again:1600's. Every $100 jump in the gold price adds to the profitability of miners. AAU has one of the lowest mine costs in the world. Little wonder institutions are sniffing around. It's all about sentiment. The majority of investors are ignorant of what is going on. Most have no holdings in precious metals at all. All that is likely to change next year. The markets are at all time highs, showing no fear. Volatility is expected to increase and people will start looking around for value and safety. Precious metals are it. I am not a financial adviser, that's what I think. I have put my money where my mouth is and I am now fully invested in gold and silver miners. The wife is too, she bought more yesterday! Lol Have a look at this: https: //www.kitco.com/news/video/show/Kitco-NEWS/2610/2019-11-13/As-GLD-celebrates-15-years-whats-the-real-deal-behind-$600-million-outflow#_48_INSTANCE_puYLh9Vd66QY_=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.kitco.com%2Fnews%2Fvideo%2Flatest%3Fshow%3DKitco-NE

Don't think there is anything to read into a shareholder presentation announcement. There was one this time of year in both 2017 and 2018

Yes, I realise that now. Although the expectation of the results today was investor speculation and not a formal date as far as I am aware.

Think peeps were expecting the quarterlies dixi. More presentations in London, meh, may be they have something new to say, may be some big news before 25th Nov.

Has everybody left the building? Lot of presentation activity announced in the very near future. Or am I not seeing any posts from this morning due to a glitch - thought it would fairly busy on here today? Edit - having said that I suppose this is not quite the news hoped for today in respect of some figures. But with the pending presentations it seems fair to assume that they will have plenty to crow about?

As you say Biggles, don't they realise the Quarterlies are probably due out tomorrow. We normally get buying into these results I believe. Still if you are desperate I guess time waits for no man as they say. Let's hope for a positive end to the week.

Who would sell 877k at 1.91 unless it was the remnants of the persistent seller who's been dropping 500k into the market on a consistent basis. A large sell well below bid smacks of someone getting rid of last batch and not minding taking a bath on final tranche.
