Not quite Thanksamillion but not a huge distance away, more north mid Turkey than north east.

Thanks both. On the other hand, hasn't some Turkish company very recently announced an absolutely huge gold discovery on the mainland, one of the biggest in the world in recent memory or is that in my imagination. If true, I'm surprised if it's not been mentioned here, even if the find is not in the same part of Turkey. As for Erdogan, he just wants to remain famous/infamous, but he's not financially irresponsible, and just loves playing politics, of the deadly type as well unfortunately.

Problem is with the message not adequately given many see the first part of your post as the reality and they need to address the way the message is given. The Turkish element with the merger is derisked by reducing the exposure and having money to concentrate on other jurisdictions he Cyprus. Minority shareholding's are protected and they have bought into JS expertise in finding gold. Their intention as stated is to pay regular divis when tarsvan on stream. 18-24 months. One off divi aimed at 1p means shareprice is effectively just over 4p for anyone buying now. Venus kerim is extremely excited about ... Bottom line is that the message and the way it is told is everything and Martin french discovered to his detriment yesterday at Chesterfield resources. (Read their BB)

To continue previous post::Kerim crystallised warrants to cash but still resulted in increased shareholding. The reason that AAU is undervalued are not the facts the reason they are undervalued is the communication to the investor market and the woeful advice they are obviously receiving regarding investor relations. Kaos has interpreted one way I've given an alternative way of viewing the facts. The problem is that AAU are superb at running a company but not at communicating or understanding their investor base. Numerous examples but having Panmure Gordon as brokers is example. They are just not geared up for dealing with small caps. Happy new year everyone

Don't dispute that some shareholders view the situation as you do. I'll give you a different take:The structure is now simple in that they receive a dividend from a JV in which they own 23.5%. So profit of 5m per annum. One off dividend next quarter so money straight from gold into pocket.Reg dividends once tarsvan up 18 months or so.Free carry on salinbas to development then debt financing.Cash in bank to explore and acquire without dilution. Investment abroad to reduce exposure to Turkey.

I have a small stake here. Let's hope with perpetual good news being bandied about(at least on websites,)that investors don't fall flat on their faces. The set up suggests a much better share price, which hasn't happened, particularly surprising given the somewhat bullish environment for smaller miners at the moment, but I admit my knowledge here is limited.

kaos, perhaps the structure has been simplified? the various asset holdings in turkey at different percentages in different vehicles are mostly gone and consolidated into a 3 way jv 53%/23.5%/23.5%.

AAU has imho become quite a complicated structure with some steps for the gold in the ground to become cash in my pocket. more than usual simple structure. share price will start motoring when it will be proven that this "complicated" structure in Turkey (how more interesting can it get?) is really delivering cash into the pockets of the shareholders.

that is my explanation why the share price is behaving as it is.

Plus - Kerim did sell some shares over time
Plus - lots capital needed for AAU to participate in further developing its dreams = no regular divi for some time. adding time to the concerns about the final cash delivering into the shareholders pockets

anyway - a good company that needs some time and work to ripe

All the best in 2021

I am less enthusiastic Charles for the reasons I've stated previously. That doesn't detract from the fact AAU has fingers in some nice pies, it's just we've reduced the size (current/future revenue) of our pies (Kizil, Tasvan, Salinbas) and are using way more than I would like for a divi.

I'm a patient investor so happy to hold but unlike most here see less near term upside. Would love to be proved wrong.

You just sound so unenthusiastic Tem. I don't share your view of the company. We have been through a huge refocusing exercise this year and imho are now about to kick ass.

Why would I do that Charles? I've been in AAU 5 years and AAU has been great for me and has great prospects, but I just don't see too much movement near term.

Just because I'm not spouting 8, 9, 10p Rodders before you can chant 'flog ya goldmines in a bull market' doesn't mean AAU are a bad investment. It just goes back to being a longer term investment while they refocus. But who knows, maybe it will double in Q1, I've still 1m+ here so wont complain.

What do AAU need to do to be eligible for the VanEck GDXJ ETF?
Something like that could certainly get the share price moving.
================

Could but by no means will. Pure Gold recently joined that list and it did nothing to the share price. IMO now that AAU has voted to flog off >50% of it's gold mine production, it will likely tread water until it sorts out and reports on actual progress towards replacing that production or progress on exploration either Salinbas or elsewhere. This is back to being a safe but slower burner longer term hold.

What do AAU need to do to be eligible for the VanEck GDXJ ETF?

The VanEck Vectors Junior Gold Miners UCITS ETF invests in equity securities issued by global producers of gold and silver with predominantly a medium and small market capitalisation.

Exposure predominantly to global small- and mid-cap companies from the gold and silver mining industry.
Direct access to a broad selection of companies in the exploration or early gold mining phase.

Something like that could certainly get the share price moving.

The institutions will probably buy off the large shareholders who want to realise some shares. This happened a year ago with seven mill, KS sold warrants without affecting shareprice therefore i deduce an institution probably took off his hands. I had some sniffing . But as you say at current price not at a discount.

Possibly Charles but I am hoping for something more leftfield than that.
I don't think there is any rush for us to just build our holding up in Cyprus through the exploration process as laid down.
I would hope Kerim has a nice surprise for us but maybe I am being too optimistic.

cc, imo aau are doing the right thing not letting the instis in on the cheap via placing. there is no dire need for cash so no need for placing or any other dilutive move (unless on good terms like the jv which not only brings cash but is a massive step towards developing the assets, primarily salinbas which is too big for the current partners). as the company develops the assets the value accretion will see the share price rise and instis will have to buy in the market like everyone else if they want to share in the story. but that is a medium to long term play, so lots can go wrong meantime but i'm hoping pm will continue the bull run into 2021 and provide some insulation from any stumbles...of course there may not be any stumbles in which case all the better.

we all know this of course, just reminding myself why i'm here!
