the fact table is the denormalised one. The dimension tables are much more like traditional relationship tables

I always thought that the star schema was a 'purer' interpretation of data warehouse design rather than the snowflake. The dimensions in a star schema are denormalised and, hence, take up more space than a normalized structure. However, compared to the fact table they are tiny so this is a moot point. The denormalized structure saves on joins which is where the cost of the query is.

Definition of a snowflake

The term "snowflake generation" was one of Collins English Dictionary's 2016 words of the year. Collins defines the term as "the young adults of the 2010s, viewed as being less resilient and more prone to taking offence than previous generations".

So please don't take offence but I'm sat on the fence with regards to the MoU. It looks like Kerim's giving a lot away, but he gets to the end result quicker and using the joint venture company's money to get there.

I'm still not sure!!

just for you Plas

In computing, a snowflake schema refers a multidimensional database with logical tables, where the entity-relationship diagram is arranged into the shape of a snowflake. ... However, the dimensions of a star schema are normalized, so that an individual table depicts each dimension.

I think i err on the side of a JV due to what now appears to be a massive amount of development needed at the different sites which as i think Biggles pointed out will need a huge amount of investment. Multiple mine investments do not come cheap especially if we are talking about the majority of new mine development in Turkey and in addition the potential of a Cyprus mine.

I'm expecting / wanting to see a ramp up in production announced in the MOU agreement.

Build a 2nd ball mill at kiziltepe and target 60k annual production so AAU still get 14k ozs.

Then bring on Tavsan and then Salinbas and get drilling in the meantime to prove up the potential of the various prospects.

Simultaneous to that AAU can turn Cyprus into something similarly big, pay regular dividends and grow via investments / acquisitions from the $25m.

Agree SFS re AAU having hopefully only just scratched the surface.
