Don't you think problems in turkey would strengthen the importance of producers of gold within their country? There would be no logic in disrupting production or status quo of Turkish companies remember procea is Turkish private company.

Charles I was thinking more the effect on the Turkish economy and currency - the lira did show a sudden dip on the news but I think has recovered a bit. Would agree that Trump could not effect internal arrangements such as you mention. That reminds me, I did pick up from Kerims interview last week the inference that the Turkish government will always buy production (in response to a question about hedging gold price). He said that hedging was complicated by the government buying all production, where previous he has always said only that the government have the option to buy, which they have always exercised to date. Maybe I am reading more into that than there is. Anyway re. the news, it is possible that the incursion will result in some risk averse holders with a consequent depression in the share price (yes, again!!) - and an opportunity for top up for anyone so inclined.

JD - you might be tempted to sell some but I can assure you that there is nothing Trump can do to stop the Turkish government buying gold from AAU.

As many may have seen there are early reports of Turkish incursions in Syria. This is not off topic, it could effect Turkeys standing amongst its Allies and possibly provoke economic sanctions. So could effect AAU

Confused, why would a sell at 2.01p of near on half million lift the price.

I remember some weeks ago someone kindly posted a link to a spreadsheet they had made modelling AAU numbers. Does anyone have a copy of the link? Thanks

Well I reckon Prelims will be next week. With the benefit of the uplift in gold & silver price throughout this quarter, by all accounts they should be pretty impressive given the margin we operate at. I still don't think many have cottoned on to us, but perhaps these latest numbers will get some attention. Then of course there is the Capital loan which will be 90% clear by Christmas. That's just 10 weeks or so away. But I regard the expected news from Kiziltepe building the Resource, lengthening the life of mine and early 2020 converting some of that to Reserve, is also going to be a wake up call for many. If it isn't our PR and Broker machine is well and truly bust! I think building the Resource and lengthening the Life of Mine is an essential ingredient for investors as they want the security that goes with that, especially sophisticated Institutional Investors.
Finally this side of Christmas, it sounds like our plans for our second 30,000 oz p.a J.V. mine at Tavsan will start to take shape, albeit actual production being sometime off.
So buying in now ahead of all that, at these totally unrepresentative values, looks like a no brainer to me. I've not even mentioned Kizilcukur, Salinbas or of course Cyprus.

Oh for some news on Ariana please, that will stop this off topic argument, never used to be as heated as this. Please accept that others have different opinions and you may not always be right.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone expressing their views in a civilised fashion and tend not to filter anyone. Doesn't mean that I have to agree with them.

Kirbs,

If you think the President of the US is irrelevant, you really should not be investing in ANYTHING.

Oh sorry, I forgot, I'm muted.

Muting someone ranting about Trump could be seen as a snowflake being narrow minded of course, it could also be seen as not wanting to trawl through pages of irrelevant drivel to read posts about the company the board is linked to.I'll base my judgement on the mind of the person making the interpretation on the option they choose.

Well said that man (post 336).

It seems it is OK to criticise Trump, without having done any research whatsoever, but those who take a different approach are not worth listening to.

I am not here to disrupt or troll in any way. I am expressing an opinion that goes against the consensus on this board.

Does that make me mad, or perhaps just another idiot?
