02/10/2019 09:51 | Not sure the drop is crazy, this is AIM and it doesn't take much to break trust in a company, a previously unknown (to many) bank arrangement that seems at odds with prior sentiment around when the company will be debt free is not a great message. I would go so far as to say a 10% dip on not worthy volume is actually not a terrible outcome. To be clear i am merely referring to this last week, i still believe in the long term prospects here but people do need to realise that every time all has seemed rosy up to now they have managed to pull a mangled rabbit out of the hat to hold it back. This discussion could have been taking place at any point over the 5 years, undervalued, long term prospects, finally ducks lining up, raising, poor promotion etc. Those things staying the same are why the price has stayed within the same range over that period imo, i would say we are exactly where we should be. Apologies if that sounds negative. | kirbs4
02/10/2019 09:51 | Soul, why? You are a particular favourite here. Wise words, good knowledge. I will very much miss your contribution. I wish you well with your investments, and hope to see you back JD | jaynesdad
02/10/2019 09:45 | Charles, wife and family shares are taken into consideration I believe, so no joy on that one. | thanksamillion
02/10/2019 09:34 | Will miss you Soul. Crazy drop Charles. | swallowsflysouth
02/10/2019 09:31 | biggles - you could always buy some for the wife or kids (apologies if you don't have any). | charles clore
02/10/2019 09:28 | I would but I'm at 3%. Ridiculous reaction imho unless people were after a quick buck of course and they inadvertently invested in a proper company building sound foundations. I can see opinion becoming polarised here. The interview was a very positive one on IG incidentally. | bigglesbingham
02/10/2019 09:17 | I have just taken advantage of the selloff. Rude not to imho. biggles - MMs leveraging price down because they make a killing when it goes back up. | charles clore
02/10/2019 09:14 | Market makers 2.3m reduction in market cap for five sells amounting to £20000 . For even them this beggers belief. | bigglesbingham
02/10/2019 09:05 | I believe the company is trying hard to dispel the impression (perhaps rightly attributed) that they behave like a lifestyle company. Remember, they didn't have to hold a confrence call yesterday. I am glad they did but what was revealed did not make me want to sell, on the contrary I think the operations are excellent. As cashflow is often far from smooth, most companies have a bank facility allowing them to borrow as necessary, for the current account not capital and is quite normal for a company of this size. By the way, if the price keeps dropping I will be a willing hooverer of stock! | charles clore
02/10/2019 09:01 | I hope the BOD will now consider arranging a shareholders meeting in the near future. Yesterday's was unsatisfactory to say the least, the meeting at PG the day before the AGM was quite short and left little time for questions as the room was only available for 1 and a half hours. I would like to see them consider a meeting outside London, perhaps Birmingham as the regular attendees seem to live in that area and may attract a few more. We need time to ask and get answers and explanations to the questions posed for the phone-in yesterday. I'm concerned that, although I sincerely believe this company has a exciting future, I may not be around to enjoy it. | paul280i
02/10/2019 09:01 | Thanks all. I am not going to go in to my reasons as do not want to be accused of deramping (again), suffice to say I was unhappy with the conference call, some of the commentary therein and you all know my longer standing moans. Shortarm I don't have a better or immediate home for the money so it will remain as cash in my account and be handy should one of my oilers produce the goods. I have probably dropped a goolie and realise there could be good news around the corner and I may be back. In the meantime I will be around on UPL & UOG and a few others and will always call back in here and keep an eye on it and catch up with you all. Be rude not to, I have known you through the BB for too long ;-) Charles yes definitely. You will all probably have more luck with me out :-)) | soulsauce
02/10/2019 08:36 | Soul sad to see you go . To me the content of the Q & A confirmed we are creating a quality asset base on many fronts. They answered the questions posed in relation to salinbas - they want to think bigger and look maintain control and develop this major asset. I still think this development program will not put off buyers I just think the board are saying we have an alternative route and are not dependent on sale to produce shareholder value. When asked about Cyprus they confirmed gold / copper (antimony as mentioned in previous rns obviously didn't meet stringent due diligence). They chose to answer question on working loans which have been in accounts and clarify these amount to three months production revenue so are not exceptional. They tend to be less restrictive too. They confirmed that current plans would not require fund raise but obviously if plans change in future which would create better shareholder value they don't want to exclude this route (what management would?). Tarsvan progressing, they struck vein on every hole at recent drilling at kiziltepe. Procea seem to be odds on favourites to progress future ventures and what an excellent job they've done so far. Satellite pits will be brought into JV. Tarsvan to be funded by a loan releasing cash. MDV looking a these accounts to potentially recapitalise with a view to paying dividends. There was a lot of solid positive information in this presentation imho but some had certain expectations due to fact this was first time they had explained their results this way, these expectations were not met so human nature to elaborate on the negatives. Could the presentation have been slicker with actual questions being posed by attendees -Yes, but this should not detract from the information provided. I'm sure some questions posted weren't answered if that's the case I suggest you ask them directly. Above are just my opinions and as many know I hold reasonable number shares but I try to be realistic and ask difficult questions when I feel warranted. | bigglesbingham
02/10/2019 08:30 | Surely not good sir. This is a sad day. Good luck and let us know where you re-camp so to speak. | plasybryn

02/10/2019 08:15 | Agreed, PR and Broker issues.AAU is a great little company that aims to get to be a great big company! | shortarm
02/10/2019 08:13 | It shows how the company is still managing to frustrate existing and potential shareholders, rather than encourage and inform. In fact AAU attempting to inform shareholders seems to backfire. That is not the fault of investors. | dixi
02/10/2019 08:13 | P.S. You'll miss the recently drilled Derya vain results - maybe they'll be like the past ones?12.1m at 16.5 g/t Au equivalent including3.2m at 48.0 g/t Au equivalent 1m at 79.7 g/t Au equivalent And Arzu North7.6m at 7.6 g/t Au equivalent 5.8m at 5.71 g/t Au equivalent | shortarm
02/10/2019 08:06 | Sad day Soul, surprised - all the positives are still there and this will be multiples of the current share price in the next couple of years!I'd be interested in where you think is a better place to put your money....? | shortarm
02/10/2019 08:04 | Out. Good luck all. | soulsauce
01/10/2019 23:29 | I thought that Kizilcukur and or Irvindi would have filled the gap JD and still might but it seemed today that the planned Q3 trial shipping of ore has been put back as well. | soulsauce
01/10/2019 23:20 | To be honest soul I'd already come to that conclusion. 50k wont be achieved until Tavsan, apart from anything it was never going to be because of the limited capacity of the existing plant. Kerim reiterated that today. Further AAU has signalled previously to be fair that Arzu South was a sweet spot and that grades would decline as we move to Derya and Arzu North. That is why I have said that I thought the output this year would be 'managed' to prevent an apparent dramatic fall from 2019 production to 2020/2021. Some stockpiled 'rich' Arzu South ore will be available until mid 2020. I expect to be pretty close to the 25000 guidance this year, of course this is just my opinion. | jaynesdad
01/10/2019 23:06 | I would also add dixi that the conference call has made it plain that 50k oz pa will be further away than some thought and production is likely to head down before it heads up as grades drop at RR. | soulsauce
01/10/2019 22:26 | Reading here and on the LSE BB it appears that the conference call has proved to be an unsuccessful idea. It's not worked especially well, has led to uncertainty about borrowings, added nothing of substance nor answered questions posed. Also it has not appeared on the AAU website 'shortly after' as suggested in the RNS. Somehow Ariana manages to let itself down on the PR front yet again. Hopefully the hinted at Cyprus event will be handled better, please AAU.... | dixi |
