But would it not make so much more sense for the share price to be higher, in turn an offer for the company would reward the board ever more highly?

Needs excitement, but what will be catalyst? A JV partner at Salinbas, diversification, the realisation that there is no debt (soon), possibly a dividend? Otherwise as bigglesbingham states, pi's will be off chasing rainbows elsewhere.

CC ...precisely. A small dividend would represent a defensive play at this stage of proceedings to increase share price and hopefully ward off cheap takeovers bids. Kerim you know you like conservatism.

The bod is not stupid. They know the share price should be higher, yet they are doing nothing to promote the company. I'm afraid this is beginning to smell of a lifestyle company where the board take generous pay and options packages but suppress the share price by keeping PR on a leash. I think they may get caught with their trousers down when the predatory majors set their sights on rich undervalued pickings at Salinbas. Prove me wrong Kerim. Announce a small dividend starting next year, I dare you.

If you go to turkey it is so impressive , when I visited the mine I landed in Istanbul and it was ore inspiring in term of size and development. Listening to some on these boards you'd thing it was a small tin pot nation it isn't . DYOR and you'll be amazed.

From proactive interview - resource extension at kiziltepe expected. This was a snippet but shouldn't be overlooked. I'd be surprised if they went away from procea for JV partner for salinbas but there are merits in doing so I.e. not reliant on one JV relationship and muddies the water for takeover at low price. I think we will find money being taken out of goldies which have done significantly better than AAU recently and being redirected to other goldies which have an ever improving bottom line ie companies like AAU . Kerim was exceptionally pleased at receiving the 10 year license ahead of expectation, although it didn't really come through in the interview. Tarsvan still progressing , metallurgy being done on best way to transport the ore is what I read from interview . Data being shared on salinbas, this is quite a change in thinking in my view from fully exploring area to know what they have to bringing in partner at early stage. I'd be very interested to see the terms relating to further significant resource expansion but they are definitely conscious about selling the asset short. Having said that little is priced in for salinbas so this may give some positive impetus to share price in short term who knows. Finally the broker note stated target 3.18 p at gold price of 1275 nothing was mentioned about the 5p they valued aau at 1500. Imho an excellent opportunity missed by the broker to promote AAUs disconnect between shareprice and value (i.e. by including the value matrix which was on their previous note when the gold price was sub $1300) . Tells me a lot about PG - not really promoters and we need a promoter !!albeit one to replace PG or an additional one who are more proactive and a little less conservative.

Hi all. I don't accept that Turkey is a particularly politically dangerous place to invest. Geopolitically it is very important and is respected by the 'West' - but it hasn't got the wage and cost levels associated with 'developed' western economies. To compare Turkey to a corrupt regime like Tanzania is bordering on the bonkers.

The 'issue' here is political instability in Turkey - it is not a great investment destination currently - a bit like Tanzania has been an avoid for an age.

Might want to look at the long term gold chart and the impact of US coming off the gold standard in 1971 and the ascension of FIAT. In particular, the explosion of debt in the last 20 years...or the creation of huge amounts of paper money...

Well, he is particularly arrogant and condescending that is true but some of what he states is accurate. When everybody is bullish it is usually a time to run for the exit but you have to be wary of using the COT report too slavishly. Which is also the case for TA, classic or otherwise. Of course, I have only be doing this for 30+ years and only understand the "basics of charting" so I am happy to bow to obviously superior knowledge.

soul - I get exactly what you are saying about JV partners at Salinbas. The difference this time is AAU don't need them as they have the cash to (albeit slowly) go it alone. But the majors need us because Salinbas is a potential giant.

Sadily you would appear to be right about the 'deramper' bit. I don't think he is paid however, he is not smart enough. Probably part of a group of PI's who all have different identities and focus on individual shares with a view to generally short them.

JD of course the company is in a much better position to Jv than it was with European Goldfields and latterly Eldorado many years ago.
I would expect much improved terms and penalties for not achieving work plans.
