Gold just shot up $40 on Trump ratcheting up the trade war and lumping more tariffs on Chinese imports. Getting close to taking out that 1450 now.

Considering it looked like falling below 1400 earlier today, this sort of price action can only be good for AAU and goldies in general?

Cin - I hope you have sold every last AAU share and put it all into AAZ. Perhaps we can then move on?

Thanks Cinoib. Took a look at AAZ a while ago and unfortunately didn’t take a punt.
Same old story with share price here I am afraid.

soulsauce.
Take a look at AAZ and you will see the difference, that has doubled it's share price since last Oct on the same gold rise as al the others.

Not sure comments were harsh. There is no way on God's earth that this should have dipped in to the 1s on the bid again when with the gold and silver price it should have been heading towards 3p.

I'm no chartist, but it seems to me that the share price is currently sitting on the support line. So I'm hoping that it doesn't finish below that today.

Still remember the BOD giving themselves those shares @ 1.2p and many had a sour after taste. I all but sold out @ 2.4 and have recently dipped my toe in the water again = only because AISC here is that low etc

I find this somewhat harsh. The production operation has not been in operation for a huge amount of time and there is still debt to pay down and the operation to grow. Salinbas will consume capital as will the development of Tavsan and their other assets. As such, the company can more usefully employ capital internally than deliver a dividend or share buy back. This, combined with the scale of the current operation at Kiziltepe is unlikely to attract large scale institutional investment.

A lack of institutional investors will not necessarily hold an investment back. I don't see a great deal of institutional involvement in AAZ and that has performed phenomenally over the last few years. BMN (not a direct comparison but in the mining space) has little institutional involvement and yet was one of the best performing shares on the market in 2017 and 2018.

The company is doing the right things and success will eventually attract the shareholder base to stimulate a significant rise. I suggest that we let them get on with it.

To be fair some other AIM mining stocks are down far more than AAu today.

It's hard to argue with that Cinoib. Big failure on behalf of the company and the broker I am afraid.
They are doing everything right apart from rebalancing the share base, promoting the company and delivering on other assets or finding a way to return money that they have talked of so long.

Typical, gold climbs week after week and this struggles to keep even closem then a sudden drop and this drops twice as fast, no am afraid this stock hasn't improved with age or profit.

LOL ;-))

Lemmings have looked into the abyss and decided to stay put by the look of things - gold going up undoubtedly helping here.

Holding support here bodes well.
