KS does seem to be very reticent to mention Salinbas, but I' don't hold that against him. Ozaltin are going to be driving that schedule forward, not KS, and big companies are notoriously slow to do just about anything, apart from raise the top guys' salaries.

Thought it was a good interview.. I'm slow for the modern world, I watched it on Twitter and came to share only to find it was shared hours ago and a full blown conversation has taken place already.I only had one observation, more curiosity than negativity, why did he get so flustered about the divi?? It was the only question he didn't answer with authority and came across like he'd been caught off guard.. Maybe just off script.

Even when the payment date has been confirmed in an RNS, he still says he ‘expects’; it to be paid, which makes me smile, because even when something is certain, he airs on the side of caution.

No doubt for the same reasons as others here, I’m hoping no news till October, but don’t want to be bidding against too many on here for more come the 27th. Will people wait for spike to drop back, will we beg, borrow and steal to get more before payment date, or just have a cracking Christmas and start again next year? Who knows?

I once wrote out his whole presentation for a shareholder meeting along the lines I've suggested and thereby showed the difference in the message. Same underlying message but focused on the issues shareholders want to hear. I suspect it found its way into the waste paper basket!!

He came up with the tag line Ariana with Attitude which was good, but I suspect quickly realised that wasn't really him. And it presented an over deliver under perform state of affairs which Kerim is far from happy with. It's a shame because his delivery needs more conviction, more enthusiasm but most of all he has to interpret what he is saying and present it in a way that addresses the benefits for shareholders not simply the features. Simple basic marketing stuff. Why can't Yellow Jersey give him some basic communication lessons.

If you go down the brrmedia page, he generally looks chirpier when being interviewed by a woman. However it's probably unfair to make facetious comments like this, since he seems to have noticed someone's earlier suggestion about sitting in front of the aircon...we could play games and say he really ought to wear lederhosen or a straw hat or something, see if he takes it on board

AAU looks to me like an old marriage. Whatever good the spouse does - it is self evident. A utility. And I never saw anyone being ok with any utility service.

What is needed is a fresh person - that recognizes the performing spouse as such.

A fresh investors pool.

Marketing - just being a good person is not enough - one has to go out and become a worthy object of desire.

Yeah of course that's a fair point Biggles, they can never please us all. I do feel these are scripted mostly so just running down the projects quickly saying there will be an update soon would give us info hungry investors something to hold on to and pull others in to the story.

When you think about it they can only put so much into these interviews. Many were complaining that he only mentioned Asgard in the last rns but nothing about other projects . Here he didn't mention asgard. I expect news on Cyprus and salinbas very shortly

I find it odd that Kerim avoided the topics of Salinbas and Cyprus. The latter may have news due so is understandable but Salinbas is so important to the share price going forward we should at least be told the plan. Always left with more questions than answers from the interviews.On a brighter note they have clearly drilled out the Red Rabbit area to adjust the mine plan. We should see a substantial increase in output i've the next year.Also Tavsan news will be very soon, between those two points the share price has plenty to get it going medium term.If we get some Salinbas news and Cyprus turns out to be as good as we hope it's going to be a fun 12 months.

divi issue imv is simple.

1. they know people want the regular divi after all these years
2. they can not afford regular divi
3. they split their allocated cash into few years divi payment (in fact keeping their promise - only over time)
4. found a true reason to do it
5. angered in the process the old hands but could attract new prospective investors who are not sensitive to the fine sociology

I had no problem with that interview apart from no mention salinbas. They did confirm debt finance was method for tarsvan. With regards to the dividend paid in tranches it will entice new investors and will mean some investors who were going to cash in with stay longer . As to tax advantage I don't know ins and outs of taxation applicable to AAU and whether some Turkish influence. However I'm happy with the way things are progressing and perhaps KS looked tired because he has been working hard on behalf of shareholders and he holds more than most on this board. Ps I have had my disagreements with the board re communication but the position the company is in cannot be disputed and we've derisked our position so if Turkey do something left field (which I don't expect them to do but who knows in this climate) we've reduced our ownership percentage and reliance on turkey.

Anyone see this interview from earlier today? 8 minutes. Nothing new as far as I can see. Kerim not looking as sharp as normal perhaps. Scott the interviewer sounds more excited and positive than Kerim. May I suggest a glass of Red Bull before Kerim starts next time. plasybryn, those particular sentences sounded very hollow to me to put it politely. there had been no earlier mention of any 'structure' i.e. tranches, it was mentioned at the last minute, and when it was questioned we were told it was due to tax reasons. to now suggest that it was planned that way for strategic benefit of current and prospective investors (which i cannot see anyway) is ludicrous. so in answer to your question, i'll borrow a phrase from victor meldrew 'i don't believe it!'

end of term report...excellent miner (a*), must try harder with communication skills (f).


edit: oh, perhaps your post was meant sarcastically, if so, apologies, i have lost my sense of humour over that matter.

Soul's comment was too close to the truth, IMO.

I now have a very simple mantra for my investment in AAU:

If something happens which is of interest to Kerim, then it will be actioned, and actioned well.

If something happens which is of little interest to Kerim, such as keeping shareholders informed, then minimal action will be taken.
