We can't really comment on the transaction because we don't know personal situation. However he's over £2m in AAU stock and you have postoperative on here who have a fraction of that holding saying they are over committed and will be reducing. Yet your saying he should be not selling and increasing further. Think you have to take a step back and assess your comments. I believe they could have been a little more savvy with sells ie timing , spread over longer period , via PG but don't moan cos he has beg stolen or borrowed to increase his holding well beyond the £2m mark. And let's not forget he has increased his holding. Agree to disagree on this one.

I tried it when I was selling to pay a bill but they delayed for one reason or other and institution pulled out cos market went against us. Wasn't overly impressed with laid back approach to put it mildly

bigglesbingham that may have been the sensible thing to do, but the company approach PG, have a word with yourself.

Shortarm are you asking me or as a director of the company who will be seen to be selling stock to buy cheap warrants in a total snouts in the tough exercise?

If MdV was so confident in where AAU was going I am sure he would not want to be selling any and taking up the warrants and would beg or borrow to get the money to do so. By selling to buy the cheap options issued to themselves sends out the wrong message I am afraid just as it did when Kerim did it which started off the fall from 6p.

If I was selling I'd have approached PG and said match me up with a institution for 5m if they couldn't then id ask questions of them cos if they haven't drummed up interest by institutions now then are they likely to in the future?

Oh and the share price mid price is about to drop as the trade prices today do not tally with the bid offer.

I see todays RNS as a small positive, particularly as Kerim was buying.

Wonder if MDV going to sell 1.5m shares to raise cash for remaining 4m options? Ahead of dividend? It would be logical thing to do if no access to ready cash.

No offence taken bigglesbingham. I will leave it there, I am not going to go through the whole how much they get paid or don't through their various positions again.
At the end of the day they paid themselves a nice cheeky bonus when production started, have had the benefit from plenty of options while I am still waiting for my divvy which is now being paid piecemeal for apparent tax reasons.
Oops maybe I was a bit negative again there, apologies.

I'm not sure where or who made that comment but think it was in relation to a negative slant being taken continuously in relation to news flow by a poster. I agree there should be balanced argument but I am willing to be corrected but I don't think that comment meant just look at optimistic point of view it was more a comment based on how cheesed off how potentially positive news was being twisted to look negative. Be interesting to hear the rationale from the person that posted it.

They should have an arrangement whereby, when a director wants to exercise options and sell some shares in the market at the same time, the company buys back the unwanted shares and cancels them. Less dilution, less dumping of large chunks of stock on the market. It's not as if the company needs the money from the options.

pragmatic/pra??mat?k/ dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.I would argue that my comments more match the meaning of pragmatic.A bit tongue in cheek soul so don't take offence.

Some may not agree but the directors salaries are nowhere near excessive for their roles. This is a positive and rather than bonus they were awarded options when Shareprice was significantly lower than the option price of 1.55. However when salaries are not excessive they don't necessarily have the cash to exercise the options. Clearly MDV needed to raise cash the exercise options and possibly pay some capital gains tax (??) There was also a differential between sale cost and puts chase within SIPP. So we can't have it both ways ie reasonable salary without having to crystallise some shares to realise cash to exercise options. Note also the shares he sold were all purchased with his own cash they weren't gifted. So don't agreed with the negative slant on your comment soul. I see all directors increasing holding as a positive.

Shame MdV felt the need to sell 2m more than he and his wife bought.
Nice turn for him though.

I was wondering when those option would be exercised it didn't make sense that they wouldn't be prior to dividend date. MDV has a few million more I believe? Net result is all directors have increased their shareholding.

Yes the fund raisings we're made because they had to maintain the relationship with proccea and pay their way. I believe the company may not have been around if those hadn't been made. Just shows how far we have come in a relatively short time. I put £25k in at 1.6p and price fell to 1.3 shortly after but had believe in their strategy and visited the mine which was superbly constructed and ran . I feel the same potential lies ahead now with ozaltin, Cyprus Tarsvan Asgard douleing production dividends and anything left field we don't know about yet.

There is dilution and then there is dilution.

Dilution where the Directors are helping themselves / connected parties etc. to shares / additional shares at a discount to the market (or bonus shares) should always be viewed negatively and is generally seen as such by the market.

Directors investing at market price is generally seen as a positive by the market and can be price positive.
