Many loyal shareholders would like some cash back but would like to remain invested. If the only way to receive money was to cash in then to receive that money they would have had to sell and as this is a thighly held share with low volume then the effect of numerous sell would be more adverse. Secondly it has resulted in the mechanism for future dividends to be paid. Thirdly they have said they want to pay regular dividends moving forward when tarsvan in production this has provided meat on the bone to this statement. Four new investors who want dividends or insist on dividend payments realise the above and show interest. Does that answer you question????

It will allow me to buy more shares cheaper with money that they gave me :-)

Bitten too many times in the past by AIM.

OK, let's put it another way. Assuming the share price falls next week by the amount of the dividend payment, what benefit has the special dividend been to investors ?

Normally the price drops to reflect the dividend amount. I hope that new investors coming aboard for the dividend buy into the potential here and don't just take the dividend and run. The current movement in the share price is miniscule so its anybody's guess what will happen.

A 0.7p special dividend on a 5p AIM share ought to have been a catalyst for the share price to increase. Unfortunately, by dragging it out over a year and a half since its announcement and then dragging out its payment by more than another year, it has had no positive effect on the share price at all. Moreover, my guess would be that when it goes xd next week, the share price will fall as all xd shares do but we will never have had the benefit of a preceding rise.

My view is that any fall will be short lived many will reinvest some will sell but who knows

regarding the imminent 0.35p payment what are peeps expectations wrt impact on sp?

there seems to have been little or no increase in share price due to this payment so are we to suffer a drop in the share price upon ex-div, without the benefit of a prior uplift, or will the share price stay put, other factors notwithstanding?

they probably have sufficient income to pay at least a 1% or 2% regular dividend from kizil operations alone so no need to wait for tavsan income. in any case divis are not set in stone so if necessary they could miss or stop dividends.

also, tax savings aside, it may be another reason they are staging the one-off divi payments (much that i wish they had not) i.e. to provide a smooth run in to regular payments.

regular dividends soon must have been on their minds a few months ago because 'words' made their way into rns (more than once iirc) but perhaps their current thinking has backtracked from that somewhat.

i have to keep reminding myself patience is required, they are on cusp of a step change in corporate development within 2 years or so, which should provide huge share price gains. regular dividends are not why i invested here but may be why i remain here longer than initially thought!

and meantime, despite current indications to the contrary, i keep looking for the next bull run in the gp which may reset all my thoughts.

Well that contrary to what they have historically stated . Not too bothered to be fair I'm here for capital appreciation rather than divi. Appreciate many on here would like divi sooner rather than later and a divi would potentially bring on different investors.

They were asked if the regular dividends would follow directly on from the three-part special at the last Q&A and the answer, thinly disguised by waffle, was no.
I think 0.175, not 0.1725. I wouldn't put it past them though...

They have said dividend up and running from when tarsvan producing which they have stated 2022. The special dividend paid 0.35p 26th sept , 0.1725 on 26th March 22 and on 26 sept22 that carry's through to when regular dividends to be paid from income say 26 March 2023. Dividends are a release of money held by company to reward shareholders. Calling it capital income is irrelevant as long as they are paid.

However a regular dividend funded by ongoing sales is the stated aim.

The dividend is very nice, even on a Sunday, but let's not lose sight of the fact that it's really a distribution of capital from asset sales, not a regular dividend funded by predictable ongoing cashflow.

I'm not an expert on Hot Madden but my understanding is that it's famous for very high grades. Average head grade 11g/t AuEq.That is the lottery win and as we know they don't happen often.Salinbas looks to have some large anomalies and if the JV can prove up the numbers they are touting I'm sure we would all be happy

That's all fine. I just don't like the inference that we will find another Hot Maden. Salinbas and Ardala have a lot of potential and can justify a big work programme going forward. Let's just get on with that.

Yea I get what your saying but I would argue decent initial drilling results from salinbas and Cyprus could significantly increase Shareprice sooner rather than later

JAF few companies will be paying level of divi over next 12 months and salinbas initial results will be known in a few months I'd seriously question if other stocks offer that potential and dividend ? But good luck

Rock - that's why most of us are here though, isn't it? If there was no Salinbas, Cyprus or Eastern Europe being explored by one of the world's most successful geological exploration teams then I doubt if I would be holding over 5m shares myself. That is what I call potential. It could be life changing at best but at worst it's always going to be safe - and in the background the company beavers away at proven deposits, extracting gold and silver and developing new mines so that we shareholders can rest easy, safe in the knowledge that there is enough income to cover all costs plus a bit more to pay a dividend.

I reckon that, overall, there is more of the stuff at the wider Salinbas than Hot Maden; it's just less concentrated / over a much larger area. But it's located about 30km's from where the founder of Ozaltin was born and so I'm hopeful that they'll prove every ounce up. AAU are just too small at the present time; they should be drilling everything (now) in / around kizil and likewise NE Turkey.

Potential. Easy to say, hard to prove. It would be great if they found something with Hot Maden like grades, but Hot Maden is an exceptional deposit... Exceptional as in highly unusual. IMO

These are actual words from the Co's website under Salinbas. Note references to Hot Maden and some geology similarities. It is located within the multi-million ounce Artvin Goldfield, which contains the "Hot Gold Corridor" comprising several significant gold-copper projects including the 4 million ounce Hot Maden project, which lies 16km to the south of Salinba?. An Exploration Target of up to 2.7Moz gold and 16.1Moz silver was established for the project in 2018. There is potential for further resource extensions to be delineated within high-grade and steeply dipping breccia pipes (akin to the Hot Maden deposit), which likely merge with the Salinba? gold-silver zone.
