I'm actually relatively happy with this approach and did suggest it several months ago.Does it now make AAU eligible for being held in the likes of GDXJ? If so that could be a game changer for the share price over the next year.

I wonder what the management bonuses will be for such herculean efforts. ha-ha.

Maybe someone will ask for an explanation at this morning's webinar. I agree with your observations soulsauce.

It still doesn't make it anymore understandable though Plasybryn and the likely payment will be sometime next year, I am guessing to coincide with the finals in late June.
To count it as part of the total special divvy is plain wrong so in actual fact the special divvy is 0.525p which begs the question why we were offered half the Oz money and since we have had lots more income and another $2m.

So where is the rest going? Kosovo, no not yet. The NewCo fund, no only $2m allocated to that.

Confused, you will be, this is Ariana after all.

Wonder what Biggles and Paul thinks. Should have bought a tent rather than a Coachman caravan.

On reflection I think it is not far off being the right strategy apart from leaving the final tranche to still be approved at next year's AGM. That can't be included in the 0.7p in my opinion. Taking the mick as someone said. Not good.
But the big mistake for me, as ever is how they have managed the communication. If from the outset they had indicated such a staged payment arrangement designed to reward existing shareholders adequately whilst also creating in effect an "income" stock to attract Institutions etc. then there wouldn't have been the understandable negative reaction today. I suspect this is a typical conservative approach whereby the future dividends can still be pulled if circumstances change. We have seen that during Covid with other Co's. The money isn't yours till its in your Bank account. This payout should have been such a positive event, but due to poor management of the owner's (us) expectations over a period of nye on bloody 2 years, it is going down more like a lead balloon.

Well at least he hasn't under promised and over delivered this time, quite the opposite.
He really needs to start delivering now and crank up that PR. The divvy what was keeping many people here.
At least it has answered the reinvestment question, I doubt even less will.

Had bigglesbingham put pressure on to extend the gains over two tax periods. Just kidding 😄

Another masterclass in expectation management by the Chairman.

Can't see Mr Somerville being excited by this.

Lottsgold - I think you're right.

The "special dividend" has been newspeak for a small special dividend and the first two regular biannual dividends.

I can't see shareholders remaining loyal when there's something of the night about the company's treatment of them

I think calling this a special dividend is taking the mick. That being said I think it's indicative of what we can expect as a regular divi from now on. It may also point to the fact the cash has been allocated to something more value oriented. I'm not happy by the way they have done it, you never know what to expect on AIM do you?!

I really don't understand why the final tranche needs approval and the payment date is open ended but will surely come after the 2nd tranche which could be Mar 22 :-/

In total it is slightly less than expected but I believe if you are not a seller then this is a prudent move and should support the share price going forward I expected .75 we get .70 over the period so not to badEverything comes to thoughs who wait

Renniks - they choose the Qs and will prob deliver similar to your wise explanation. All will be calm, valuable, expert and consistent with the long term value building AAU proposition. Cant wait and learn from them

unfortunately I cannot get to the call this morning which perhaps is a good thing for my blood pressure.

Yes, I can agree with the points that Renniks has made and there are probably good strategic reasons from the company's viewpoint. But it is a classic 'defeat from the jaws of victory' event - it won't attract new shareholders, it doesn't please existing shareholders and the market will probably ignore it.
