Looks to me as though someone is working a sell order. The effect of reducing value by £5m on sells of £30000 is mms having some manipulation fun.

I think everyone is a bit nervous out there. Too many news events happening, and it might appear sensible to take money off the table for now. As usual this has/will provide good possibilities for the more adventurous to top up at crazy prices.

CC/dixi, yes, well noted and CC I agree. It was really just a slightly flippant vent Re. the elusive logic and often mysterious workings of our stock markets.

With regards to AAU, I sleep peacefully. So many BS merchants among management teams on AIM that KS often seems to be in the wrong market, such is his Quality, not to mention that of his team.

Yep there is a lot of uncertainty now and I think $2k plus gold is now a foregone conclusion. This will have a very positive impact on the AAU share price. Would be good to see us over 7p prior to formal conclusion of the JV

Excuse my ignorance- I'd never heard of Aquis. Just had a quick look at their site.
Iweb tells me my trade was on LSE so I presume the identical sale on Aquis at 16.12 is a coincidence?

ADVFN shows no trades since 14.27 this afternoon 9127 @5.85.
I topped up 35000 @ 6.06 at 4.15 yet it's not recorded? Can anyone tell me why please?

CSSF / CC - I guess our reward is the dividend rather than dramatic capital appreciation. You could argue that the share price is where it is due to the recent gold price increase of a few 100 $'s and not corporate action. I am sure if gold passes $2000 the share price will follow in kind. Until then a certain amount of investor apathy towards AAU seems possible. Too much excitement elsewhere!

CSSF - I seriously doubt the company is remotely interested in the share price because a) there is not a competitive offer in play - the jv is a done deal for cash, b) they simply don't need to impress institutions with a view to equity placements as they are (even before the deal) dripping with caah. This being the case they will almost 'play down' any good news rather than report it with the same enthusiasm that other AIM companies would. Kerim might be a superb geologist with an enthusiastic field team who find lots of precious metals but in my experience he has very little time for PR. I'm surprised he managed to hook Ozaltin to be honest but they are here. They must have been in the right place at the right time. IMHO the new partner has secured a fantastic deal.
