ARB clearly has some way to go before it disengages with BTC movements and is recognised as an investment.

At the moment its like watching a manufacturer’s share price move up and down by the same percentage as its product sales price. Which would be weird.

I tend to have similar view, Brasso. Just believe the uptake by institutional investors & UHNWI who are probably longer term holders may reduce volatility. Also feel that traders may shift towards the Alt coins for volatility to trade in the future. But that’s just my view not really able to back it up with any technical analysis.

Anyway I’m long only on ARB and not trading that, so my views probably a bit biased.

I do not see the same bear market this cycle. The previous BTC bear markets where due to retail traders. By the time BTC gets to its peak in 2021 there will be lots of new household names involved that will be investing on a 5 - 10 year time horizon. Yes, of course it will over perform then there will be a pullback. I expect the bear market to be more like a 50% retracement. Also, the staking of crypto will remove a lot of volatility now as people seek yield. You can get 12% yield with Polkadot now with Kraken and I think ETH is 5% - 13%. BTC is much lower around 6% but in a world without yield, crypto staking starts to look very attractive.

Suffers, if is going to go down 80 to 90% in the next bear market (which think was your call), why on earth try to pick the top? Just wait and join the downward momentum party ... and keep your stops tight, because there are a lot of people happily buying the dips

For some reason I woke up this morning with the dystopian idea that perhaps taking over miners doesn’t necessarily need to be for profit motives - it could be a matter of control for a Dr. Evil.

@ Brasso, interesting. Hard to argue just a treasury strategy then.

Around 6 minutes in Frank Holmes talks crypt, ETH and HIVE. He talks about miners being a proxy for exposure to crypto.

There are lots of attractive shorts on the US markets. I would not be doing it just yet though. Way too risky with another $1 - $3 trillion stimulus very likely from the FED/ sleepy Joe.

It's going to be a fantastic short when the music stops uapatel but way too much momemtum to short at present! It's now valued at 10% more than the entire global automotive industry, but makes up less than 1% of sales. Lol. I expect to see it lose 80-90% of its value in the next bear market.

Ask moving up - might get a little tickup on the bid into the close.

O/T

So TESLA up another 5% today, or $30Bn, roughly equiv to the entire value of GM in just over an hour :) Nothing worrying there then!
