23/1/2021 19:57 | Yump - Bapodra means well I'm sure, but yes, a bit dull for anyone who's been here for a while as all his points have been made before. Always courteous to read back a few months on a bb to avoid needless repetition. | suffersnofools
23/1/2021 19:55 | Yump - I think 2tyke was just alluding to the fact that the ignorant, misinformed anti-crypto FUD that always hits the mainstream media after a big rally or ATH is a positive lagging indicator for the price direction. You have to remember that most of the garbage financial media HATE Bitcoin and have gone on record saying how once the fall from 20k started it was going to zero, blah blah, so its continued success is both puzzling to them, but also more egg on the face, so they jump on any 'crash' to double down on their rubbish predictions. Not a coincidence that the 'Tether' story resurfaces again now. | suffersnofools

23/1/2021 18:47 | The Winklevoss twins say Bitcoin's current bull run is different from the previous boom because institutional investors have now bought the cryptocurrency. "This is the most sophisticated investors, the smartest people in the room, buying the Bitcoin quietly," said Tyler Winklevoss. Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss told CNBC on Monday that bitcoin will skyrocket to $500,000 within the next decade and surpass gold as a store of value. "Our thesis is that bitcoin is gold 2.0, that it will disrupt gold, and if it does that, it has to have a market cap of 9 trillion, so we think it could price one day at $500,000 of bitcoin," Tyler Winklevoss said. The cofounders of Gemini explained that Bitcoin is a better store of value than gold and offers higher returns. Bitcoin climbed to a new record high today, bringing its year-to-date gain to 177%. | ![]() cromw3ll

23/1/2021 18:39 | Plus I feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that the restrictions on share buy-backs and dividends that were put in place to ensure bank balance sheets were much more secure after the 2008 banking crisis have been watered down to nothing in recent years. Can't see any parallels to then of course? Record level of mortgage delinquency? Check. Subprime auto debt offloaded to pension funds? check. Most overvalued equity markets in history? Check. But of course it's not as if there are any systemic risks like a global pandemic, mass unemployment or collapsing dollar to worry about this time. | suffersnofools
