23/6/2022 22:12 | Thanks Jb (on the other thread). Was a bit confused with the troops at Vejnaly and was also expecting them at Demirli | odsjp
23/6/2022 22:08 | Thanks Pants, Friendzarin and RB from your update from the AAZ AGM. I (like everyone else on here) really appreciate the insight and hopefully will be able to make it next time (if South West trains provide a service upto London) Pants - One quick question if I may. You mention in the Vejnaly bullet point that Russian peacekeeping troops and Turkish military were present but was anything mentioned about Demirli (in terms of troops) and when we could get access and start mining. It maybe a bit premature considering we don't officially have ownership yet but that really seems to be the jewel in the crown in order to get us to be a mid tier producer. I am currently not expecting anything until mid 2024, would that be yours and anyone elses view? I see in the short term (this year) we will have some production from Vejnaly to boost our 54-58K oz production and assume that in 2023 we will have both Vejnaly, Hassan to boost production (offset decline grades at Gedabek) along with further exploration and hopefully a roadmap into 2024 and 2025 where we can get a better insight into future production through to 2030. Does that seem fair? So does anyone have any views/expectations of the following 2022: Next few weeks (full ratification) 2022: 57k - 64K GEO with Vejnaly 2023: 64K - 70K GEO with Vejnaly/Hassan (and offsetting Gedabek) 2024: Really dependent on Demirli access as it is ready to go, but could boost us to well over 100K GEO. | odsjp
23/6/2022 21:48 | bwana - I gave you one of the tick-us on the THG thread. I don't post there as there is so much rubbish written which I think is what the shorter wanted to detract everyone from the company. | odsjp
23/6/2022 21:44 | TXP - Young, Touchstone respond to alleged sabotage at Fyzabad pipeline Loop News 1 hr ago After claims of sabotage came to light when a six-inch oil pipeline was cut in Fyzabad this morning, Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs, Stuart Young and Touchstone Exploration are speaking out. In a media statement, Touchstone said an oil transfer line on Primera Oil and Gas Limited's ("Primera") Fyzabad Block was cut. Primera determined that the cut line was an act of vandalism, and the local police and all relevant in-country authorities have been notified. They promised that the source was isolated and contained. Touchstone said that based on current information, Primera estimates that a maximum of 240 barrels of oil may have been released. No personal injuries were reported but the safety and security of staff, operations and community partners is Primera's main priority. They assured that all impacted residents have been contacted and are being assisted while cleanup activities are conducted. Reclamation efforts are underway and Primera's incident response team will remain on site. In the Post Cabinet Media briefing today, Minister Young said that any act of sabotage is criminal and that he hopes that investigations into the incident allow justice to prevail. Hmm Cheers Wan | wanobi

23/6/2022 20:42 | Thank you FZ, that makes sense! I guess they missed the sitting that approved other mining stuff a couple of days ago? But they are obviously very sure of the outcome. Rigger, it’s a nice area along the river front there! Enjoy | digger18
23/6/2022 20:40 | Just got back. A lot of driving done today. Lightened by a lovely lunch. Thanks Chris. It was a pleasure to meet you rb. Sorry our timely arrival (screech in with 5 mins to spare) meant we didn’t really get to chat as much as I’d have liked but it would be good to chew the cud next time over a pint as fz and I like to do on a more normal timetable. All a bit weird today with train strike changing plans so late etc. Don’t intend to do a write up for this one tonight. Others have done more than I can muster at the moment. Just to clarify, peacekeepers are clearly at Kyzlbulag/Demirli not Vejnali. Oh and it’s 5 years not 3 but yes Reza did say 3 years I spent some time with Reza and various other members of the board. All is good and the next few years will be as amazing as the last 5 ps Oh, who was asking all the questions? Sorry I didn’t get to meet you today, feel sure you post on here but can’t put a name to you? Good to see you again andrewsr and Nick too | jbravo2
23/6/2022 20:33 | digger. Re what you ask my understanding ( and I am happy to be corrected with those who know more definitively) is that: the president has signed it off the council of ministers ( as of yesterday) has signed it off the Mili Majilis as a formality [ (and hence J S's off the cuff remark as approx 75 of the 125 membership are of the ministerial i.e.government party ) ] will ratify it in this extended (i e by July 15th) Spring sitting. Best wishes Fz | friendzarin

23/6/2022 20:12 | Friendzarin my 2nd or 3rd visit to this thread, out of curtesy to say a pleasure to speak to you and the likewise nice couple from Worcester. Don’t know if you’ve drove back by now but hopefully you all had a nice lunch. I’m currently in the Black Lion beer garden on the Thames path in Chiswick, having walked miles to buy that flat with my son. So I’ll refrain from further comment until I get chance to post over the way; I’d have time for you any day :) | riggerbeautz

23/6/2022 19:52 | I attended the AAZ AGM today, and in case this were of interest to others, I supply here my notes: # The company started with thanks to the patient shareholders bearing in mind the times we have gone through since the last in person AGM. This included the Pandemic with its impact on the workers, noting that we have isolated locations with specific issues. Then of course the pandemic impacted the supply chain. Then we were located just 60 kms from a live war. All the above meant that today we are in a situation with a share price far lower than it is felt it should be. # As for the share repurchase scheme, the directors felt that they wanted to tighten the market, and to see the share price move up, thereby rewarding shareholders. They are hoping to tempt in institutions and if they buy in (in the future) at a higher price, the company will gain the benefit. # One questioner stated that the company are excellent concerning technical aspects, but light on the road they intend to follow, ie presenting their strategy. The response was very informative. AAZ saw themselves as a gold producer, but are now moving to have copper as a strong component of their portfolio, just when the world needs copper. They apologised for the lack of communication, but also explained that this was due to discussions with the Az government. They commented that news getting out does not take much to derail things. The great news is that this has been agreed with the PM (signed off), the decree issued by the President, and we are now just waiting for the parliament ratification decision, which is expected within weeks (and before they go on holiday on 15th July). # Now for some detail about the new properties. The deal involves Garadagh, Xarxar, and Demirli. Garadagh is today owned by Azergold, and the license is being transferred after Azergold have already completed some exploration. They have swapped this with a property on the border with Armenia, so this represents a bird in the hand today, besides which Garadagh looks good, and is also close by Gedabek, as is Xarxar. This was a good commercial deal with payment after work starts. Demirli is the potential jewel in the portfolio, being a massive copper mine. # Vejnaly already has work under way, with production from the underground. Although there are Russian “peacekeepers& # This represents 2 huge steps ups for the company, first the new mines, and secondly we now have full access to all our (extremely valuable) properties. In the next 2-3 years everything is expected to come together, with the company focussed on producing dividends, low cost production, and free cash generation. They anticipate that it will take a 4 year step-wise approach to ramp up to full production. # The high grade vein in Gosha (“Hasan” # Concerning Libero, we were told “we do not like to stay in just 1 geographic location”. They found Libero very well technically qualified, so this will not be a drain on their resources. With an investment of just $5 million, and the potential that this could be a billion dollar company, Libero could eventually be looked on virtually as a royalty provider. # The key point I took out was the palpable relief from the board for the issue of the hoped for parliamentary ratification. I captured the words “we feel unburdened”. The board feel that AAZ has had to endure a couple of difficult years with delays but that the trajectory from here is clearly up for the foreseeable future ….... Please note that these words are personal, are not advice, and I invite any other present to correct and/or add. | pantsonfire

23/6/2022 19:40 | Good meeting today. Good to see some solid acquaintances on either side of the board table. Shame the travel issues prevented more hearing what was said. Genuine pleasure to meet you Rigger always admired the quality of your posts. Rather more positive than a term that has been picked up as the board feeling unburdened I might suggest another 'off the cuff' remark from John Sununu 'since 6pm UK time yesterday we are in a different league' My confidence in this company being the right place to be at the moment has only been enhanced by what I've heard today. | friendzarin
23/6/2022 19:38 | Belting late RNS from TAST.Valuation is truly absurd ... £6m Mkt Cap v £8.5m in the bank & Zero Debt.Prudent and realistic expansion underway.Consumer discretionary expenditure may well get knocked but, Pizza & Pasta benefits from the 'trade down' move and usually remains a go-to favourite for those who never trade-up. | mattjos |
