So, 2 weeks until the company start buying back up to 11m shares. The big question is whether we get news before AGM or whether shares start getting bought before the rerating kicks off. I'm not sure how to get to AGM if there is a train strike. It's very annoying

I wondered that Cinoib, ie how much is being borrowed to keep this high level of shorting gold on the go?

Stop Mat, it is going to end in tears for all.

Especially ETF and crypto funds as they actually don't hold any of the crypto they float.
Did they think having a basket of crypto on CMC makes them whole?

No, just well held. From estimates around 4m have been lost.

Which then makes overall supply even lower 16-17m total.

All have views, I may be proved mad one day, however I definitely want at least 10-15% of my portfolio in BTC.
Ps ARB is not BTC ;-)

No advice.

Don't know who is putting the bill for all the gold being shorted today, am just pleased it's not coming out of my pocket, at least not directly.

65% never moved as people lost their security detail to get access to their Bitcoin?!

Macro wise I am very bullish on BTC, 65% of all BTC have never moved, held in private wallets.
Leaving your BTC on an exchange is crazy.

You need to control your private keys or the asset is not fully yours(like spreadbets and CFD) you never actually own the stock. As we see today margin traders were fleeced again. all the big holders don't care, in for the long run and privately control their BTC.

IMO

"....I know for sure that the approval has come from the Presidents office and is awaiting the rubber stamp."

For sure?
Isn't this what Reza said during a recent interview?
He also said he had been told [by some GOA contact, implicitly] that ratification was expected by the end of May.
Do you have any other source?

Katsy, LLB, Lefrene.
Well I will be a very happy man when it all falls down around our necks as it has been on the cards for too long. If my current exploits materialise then I will be as close to self sustaining as one can get, so the world can go to hell. The greedy bankers and stupid governments created this mess, let them sort it out, if the can.

"Why do you think we will get the ratification before the AGM mf ?"

A just question.

"Rabbit stew is very tasty!"

Indeed. A 'dry' meat as little fat but a long slow stew cooks it juicy and tender :-)

LLB

"POG moving down in parallel as expected so far.."

But relatively muted considering the lift in bond yields and strong $.
The hitherto dependable inverse relationship between POG and real long Treasuries yields broke down some 6 months ago; are tail risks holding sway?
The big challenge to gold will be when QT gets going and liquidity drains.
Ditto equities.

Whatever, crypto has finally succumbed today.
Digital gold it [Bitcoin] ain't.

jeansey of course I cannot be 100% certain but that is my belief, however parliaments have their own agenda but I know for sure that the approval has come from the Presidents office and is awaiting the rubber stamp.

Yes Wan. You don't have to catch a bus to find crooks they are all around us.
Though some are more clever than the normal ones !! The clever ones are the ones to watch out for.
I remember looking at Bit Coin when it was just a few $s. How could I have invested in something that I did not fully understand?
I think Brasso on here used to advocate it from time to time. I just hope he sold out at the right price.
Such is life in this world at the moment.

If interest rates were 10% today I doubt inflation wouldn't be much different now. What is driving inflation now, has nothing to do with the spending power of people.

PS would took the bottom out of gold.

jeansey the share price is telling us that the market believes the whole thing is a lie! Getting on for 10 months to rubber stamp a decision by the President? Has Jeremy Hunt been moonlighting and gone over there to organise a new system for them?

LLB, not very long before we all find out how ugly it's going to get. This has been in the making since Broon failed to get a grip in 96 as we came out of the 1988 hangover. The current situation is many times worse, and spread across all the developed economies.

Unhappily those who allowed this situation to develope are the ones we have to turn to for a solution. It doesn't look good to me, and it's quite plain that most people have no idea what is going to happen. Although I notice canned protein in supermarkets seem to get sold out pretty fast, so some persons are stock piling.

I'm temporarily perched in a rural patch of Norfolk, and I've never seen so many rabbits. Rabbit stew is very tasty! :¬)
