That 'fiat' might turn out to be Renimbi if the imbeciles running the Fed and their close friends don't change their ways. Luckily covid came along to provide a smoke screen for the fall out from the Repo-Market incident. I guess though they must be over the hump of recapitalising the banks by now. The USA certainly keeps giving China opportunities to tip the scales. I'm of the view that China has a plan, whereas the USA blunders from one greed driven whoopsie to the next.

I wouldn't mind some news, there must be a cupboard full by now to dish out.

That would be worrying as I was planning to sell my aaz shares sometime for quite a lot of fiat currency....

That is quite some chart there digger18. If Feb is similar than I'm not sure how they will hold the price of gold down for much longer. Somebody on JSmineset said the other day he hopes the price on COMEX drops to zero just to show the absurdity of comex pricing. Everybody should know by now the financial reset is coming and that all fiat currencies after this reset will be worthless.

Quite wan :)
and just for a little balance, that was the shortest result in a post war test match at just 842 balls bowled.
As you say wan - well done India and to think we have another one coming up next week!

I think my view is that a company should be cautious, the broker should be balanced.

I take the point DP, but they feed into each other - if you plan based on conservative forecasts then you're playing it safe.

Somewhere on that line playing it safe turns into cash hoarding, stagnation, inactivity, missed opportunities and all kinds of negative. I'm sure there's a chart somewhere that would indicate otherwise, but I'd say knowing where that line is is an art rather than a science!

Thanks for that digger18, it indicates a change in behaviour of investors as confidence in the dollar declines, and perhaps confidence in paper instruments also declines. Which I suppose given the huge mismatch between 'paper' gold and actual gold, is hardly surprising. How long will it be before the 'gold' scandal stories get printed, where hapless investors who thought they had gold find themselves with only bits of paper?

In the meantime AAZ imo remains absurdly under valued.

The amount of gold delivered in ONE MONTH, exceeds the entire Comex gold deliveries in the years 2015, 2017 and 2018.

I'm not sure why, when making assumptions for the year, you shouldn't use spot prices. I wouldn't do that for planning expenditure or taking on liabilities but for a central financial performance case surely the current market price is the best guide you can have

As spread bets are topical at this moment in time, I doubt very much that there are many who would have gone long on England bowling India out for only 145 this morning, a first innings lead of 33. Skipper Joe Root taking 5 for 8, a new world record cheapest 5 wicket haul in test cricket for a spinner. What would we do without him.

Yep it could finally reach crisis point in Armenia.
The opposition have consistently failed to get the people on the streets in sufficient number to put pressure on Pashinyan, despite repeated appeals.

Pashinyan yesterday made a mistake though imo. There’s been an ongoing inquest into why the war was lost and for some time people have been asking why Iskander missiles weren’t used. Yesterday in an off the cuff comment to a question he said they were used but didn’t explode or only went off 10%. This is a premium Russian missile system. Russia will not have been impressed by this comment. It coming on the back of the obvious air defence system failures vs drones that were plain for all to see.
The day after these comments the army makes its first steps. Hardly co-incidental imo.

Key question for Pashinyan now, is can he still get numbers on the streets as he has now appealed for the people to come out to reject what he is calling an attempted coup.
