I suppose every little helps...even though it really is a BS storyline from the BBC:

How much gold is there left to mine in the world?

YIKES -

Furthermore, China recently purchased large amounts of gold to back it's fiat currency, the Yuan. It is obvious that if the value of the e-Yuan were to drop, the government would immediately step in to provide physical asset backing in order to stabilize prices in investors' favor.

Cheers
Wan :-)

Well, we know the problem: only those who are already interested in AAZ watch the interviews, and anyone who has paid attention in the past already has lots of these. So we need new buyers, and to get those we need a share price moving up on news and some decent PR with a wider reach than proactive.

But I have no doubt the news coming will be significant enough to, at worst, persuade a lot of us to reinvest our dividends, and, at best, well, the sky's the limit.

I've certainly done my bit yesterday and today .. really, really cannot believe the details in the news and Bill's interview has not been properly twigged/understood by far more people :-) I suppose they'll catch up eventually

Bought another 12k earlier. Another half decent RNS and we should be well above 150 for good imho.

Agree 100% Mattjos. The last 12 months have been all about building a base for the next leg up. Sky's the limit now.

after such a long extended period of churn as we have seen here for over a year now, as/when the next upward breakout move does arrive, I do expect it to be hugely powerful as the stale bulls will simply all be gone.
Not a time to try and be a smarty-pants trader here any longer

I am quite sure that both parties can see the compelling logic to all this & it's clearly mandated in an existing legal contract so, should not require any legislative changes to quickly enact

certainly would become a much larger area where the AAZ mining operations offer jobs and prosperity to the local population & then go on to pull in further associated support and service industries … another non-O&G square on the national chess board that the govt can tick off as 'on the up'

Matt

That's why I called the CA extension news (joining up Gedabek and Greater Gosha) transformational yesterday.

Your excerpt from the PSA was most apt and should give confidence to everyone that AAZ Team know what they are doing ( we knew that anyway!!) and are delivering on the vision they set out over the last 2 years.

relatively quiet week with most people fixated on the virus news .. in more normal circumstances, I believe far more people will have joined up the dots here this week on the basis of the RNS and Bill's interview.
At some point others will catch up & realise they are missing probably the last buying opportunity below 150 this year

yes 2sp … I am quite sure that 'force majeure' was granted on both sides during the pandemic period as 'normal' business practices were suspended across the globe.
Yesterday's news effectively tells us that 'normal' business practises are now resumed in Azerbaijan & Mr. Vaziri is back in-country to crack on with the necessary

It should go out at 6pm on ITV News but not sure yet which day and whether it will air nationally or only on ITV Wales.

We are told it may also be featured on All Around Britain which airs on ITV (nationwide) at 1120am this Sunday.

Once we hear more, we will let you know!

Yes, i totally get what you are saying Matt. wrt PSA.

Yesterday's RNS advised that AAZ have engaged a legal team to look into how an enlarged CA can be integrated within the existing PSA T&C did it not?
Which i guess is the AAZ equivalence to what the Azerzi guvmint did last Summer - July was it? - when we got wind they were paying for a legal team to look into the PSA and the mainstream take on that was that maybe some kind of takeover was in the offing.
Now we know what was really being discussed.
And the Covid has delayed progress but now negotiations back on, in earnest!

Thanks for the INFO re the PSA.

Pretty clear that AAZ is doing it the right way to get the extension to the Contract Area....

In my experience, the times when I've made most money on stocks has been when the bleeding obvious has been in plain sight and the market simply hasn't been looking. This looks like one of those cases.

This prospective expanded CA with Gedabek and Gosha subsumed, it will
be a much larger area than the 2 existing CA combined methinks.

Consider a few salient numbers:

Both Ged. and Gosha are about 300km sq.
Gedabek is about 20km N-S by 15km E-W; Gosha similar proportions but maybe orientated
to the E-W 20km N-S 15km.

We know Gosha is 50km NW of Gedabek.
Well, even if the extreme corners of those CAs co-incide with those of the new
large CA, the area has to be 50km going diagonally from NW to SE.
It is almost surely larger; a diagonal around 70km a reasonable estimate.
But let's go with a 50km diagonal of a rectangle.

rec. side a squared + rect. side b sq = the diagonal sq.

so, 50km sq = 2500km diagonal.
lets assume a square, for simplicity.
so each side sq = 1250km
square root of 1250km = 35.36km

So, we can contemplate a new, enlarged CA of at least 35 by 35 km or 1225km sq.
Contrasted with the existing combined area of about 600km sq.

That's more than double the existing area - minimum!!
Could easily be 3 times, or more.

The TS brain rarely engages with even the most basic geometric calculations, so i
won't feel humbled if corrected :0)

Lateral thinking suggested i just find a map and post up an annotation here, having recently evolved the requisite skill-set to achieve this.
I've found something from Google maps to work with and if can find the time and inclination....maybe post something up. Possibly at the weekend.
If there's something on the AAZ website, it has eluded my brief search today.

To the best of our knowledge and from all the RNS since IPO, AAZ have not put a foot wrong on the terms of the PSA. They have an in-house ex-govt PSA expert / compliance officer and maintain close and extremely frequent contact with the government to ensure they are in abeyance of the PSA an that the govt. is happy with what they are doing.
Reza is a known stickler for this sort of detail & quite rightly so.

That makes the process very clear & this is the process that AAZ are following with regards Avanschli & Gilar.

They have formally notified in writing the Discovery of Avshancli & Gilar in November 2019 (following initial identification of same during Q1 2019 & consequent to the Heli-Survey).
In the November 2019 Notice they have detailed surface mineralisation details, initial drill results and accurately identified where all this is on the map.

Now they are conducting the necessary in-fill drilling and data analysis which will enable them to estimate the mineable reserves present, estimated annual production & method of recovery.
By adhering to the PSA stated process AAZ is ensuring that the government "shall make every effort to grant the additional areas to Contractor …. and such additional areas shall become the subject of this Agreement"

It feels like pressure is building here. Just need a couple of buys and the MMs to keep a sensible spread and we could be off to the races. After listening to Bill yesterday and thinking through the maths for Q3 and Q4 again, provided the dip down has the grades we expect I can't believe this won't break out of the current range and find a new one, probably around £2.50-£3, before year end
