Ha! So I Googled Azerbaijan China relations. Top result was the wiki page. Check out the opening paragraph:

How much cash in 2025? Have I read that right? If that comes to pass, and exploration goes as expected, is it too rampy to suggest AAZ could be a half-billion pounds company by then?

Surely a major will try and snap us up before then. From their point of view making a move before resources are proven is the way to go. For us, as discussed before, we'd like to know exactly what we have before listening to offers.

How are Azeri - Chinese relations? My gut instinct is ultimately the Chinese state will want our resources.

Others might now but I suspect this is the first time over £1m of stock in AAZ has been traded in a day.

Agreed, best note I've seen to date. Still conservative in terms of lom and profitability so upside to come if new finds come through for patient lt holders.

"Last year, AAZ ran out of tax losses to offset against its tax liability. Nevertheless, we expect cash generation to remain strong during 2019-25, notwithstanding our conservative production assumptions (see below).
We estimate that annual free cashflow generation during 2019-25 (defined as net income + depreciation & amortisation – capex) will be in the range of $25.2m-$30.5m – with an average of $27.7m – versus AAZ’s current market capitalisation of $157.2m (£123.3m). This amounts to an average free cashflow yield of 17.6% p.a."

"The chart below illustrates that, without a higher payout ratio or substantial
investment in new mines and mine production, our financial model shows that net cash
on AAZ’s balance sheet will be ca.$170m by 2025, based on the 25% payout ratio."

Cash > current mkt cap in 6 years...!!

And presumably that Hardman note came before today's news, although they may have had a smidgeon of an inkling.

I'll give you my uncouth report (as opposed to the serious thread) if I get there and things go to plan. Just checked Jubilee line to Green Park(nearest it looks) from St Pancras or Euston 3 to 4 stops, should take no more than 20 mins and I'm guessing maybe 10 mins even if i have to jog to Mayfair. Best not wear my Riggers.

Right, gone, be lucky with the others, might compose a update on the train back to East Mids Parkway, if I don't stray into London late into the night.

A very serious thank you to everyone on here for sharing their well informed information. Unlike boards for other companies people seem so well intentioned on here which also means theres a great level of trust too.

AAZ - new Hardman note, By Paul Mylchreest

Investment summary: The outstanding aspect of AAZ’s financial performance is its cash generation, which is reflected in our DCF valuation of 156p per share, using a discount rate of 8% and long-term gold price of $1,350/oz. We expect AAZ to pay a $0.07 dividend in 2019, implying a dividend yield of 4.7%.

Cheers
Wan :-)

and,,,,

At this stage, we have made the highly conservative assumption of no production beyond 2025!!!!!!!!
