At last! I have another one now joining me in forecasting $4,000 gold price:"The collapse of the monetary system as we know it will push gold to $4,200"http://www.businessinsider.com.au/end-of-cash-will-cause-gold-to-soar-2016-7?

Looks like the UK commercial property sector is now another 'no go' area for investors. Bonds/gilts will cost you money to hold.Banking sector globally looks increasingly unpleasant. If it's not one of the Italian banks that causes the next crisis, it will be Deutsche Bank.Currencies are for gamblers only at present. Will Japan double down yet again in its efforts to lower their currency & try to encourage growth? They're in a mighty big hole already.Putin might well have the last laugh this year!Other than the effort at price manipulation of the paper market (& those efforts are growing less and less effective -$1Bn short today lasted only a couple of hours) I can't see what is going to stop Gold going on to new highs this year. Still think AAZ were a bit premature with their hedging contract but, there may well be important & pressing behind-the-scenes reasons why at this stage. Market is still snapping up whatever is sold here.

Another day, another c.220oz at c.$650-700 margin.
Another day, another attempt to hide buys as sells.
That last 50k was put through just seconds after the price moved to make sure it looked like a sell. Thing is, price is marginally up on the day. Like..... Derrrrrrrrr.
All fun and games

Re post 3392. Spot on last time. Think we're running out of sellers again at this price point. Any buying tomorrow will see us move again

About right .. Just reinforces the silly mkt cap still. This seller should be taken out soon, going on the dwindling auction stock available

Any guesses of net cash flow for 2016 before Capex based on say average POG at $1300?

So another day passes by. The price consolidates further.

Recently there has been a greater proportion of trades happening where no clear buy/sell is indicated due to auction/late publication/A.N.Other reason. Anyone else noticing this? (Of course it varies on which platform you're using as some always seem to assign a buy/sell colour)
You can often tell which side they're on due to price, irrespective of what your platform tells you, but I'm happy to hear theories on this. Of course they're mostly on the buy side... the share price action the last month or so tells us this but it seems as if it is being done with a great deal of patience, trying to be as opaque as possible... moving up, consolidating, occasionally trying to engineer a dip to try and shake out the weaker holders. Perhaps those trying to trade a little, or those worried about losing gains.
And I'd argue they've done well, its climbed c.200% in three months and hardly a mention anywhere and very rarely on the climbers boards.

Anyway, just some ramblings. Here's to today's 220oz.

Average volume is only 350k shares a day.
There are only 60m or so shares in free float according to declared positions. I know of a few PI's who account for another few million who aren't selling. Let's call it 50m in free float.
We've traded nearly 1% of the free float today. Nothing amazing but above average.

:D
Thanks zhockey. An all time high? This year? Not likely in my opinion. I don't buy into matt's $4k/oz gold though. Sure it's going up but I can't see it hitting that.

Another day with above average volume.
Another day with the world economy heading down the pipe.
Another day where the debts of some banks and nations look unsustainable.
Another day where we pull more than 200oz out of the ground... And some silver... And some copper...
Another day paying down our debt.
Another day closer to record production and peak valuation for AAZ.

2016 the turnaround year for AAZ

First EU crisis event that erupts from latent/festering to emergency status Post Brexit may well be the Italian Banks bail-in one:

hxxp://www.wsj.com/articles/brexit-exposes-eurozones-weak-spot-italys-banks-1467567131

Whatever action is taken to shore these up, there will be increased liquidity on scale of several Euro-10's-of-billions, further Euro currency risk and increase in global 'tail' risks [economic/financial/political/social].

All very supportive for POG [+POS etc].
Not least as already very low 'opportunity' costs - as encapsulated by AAA bond yields and deposit rates - will sink even further and increasingly below 'Ground Zero'.

That would get towards my price target for Gold, Brasso :-)That suggestion, to use QE to buy gold as a means of kick starting economies, has been slowly gaining traction over the last year or so. They are buying up everything else so, why not?
