29/7/2020 20:32 | even jeansey (!!) was bricking it back then: 22 Jul 2015: Lots of small sales today, must be because of fall in POG below 1100. I really dont understand how people on here can be saying that he company is going to be profitable when nobody knows what the cost per ounce is?! Without that information , even though things appear to be looking up here, then I cant see how some can be so optimistic here. I have followed this share for years, luckily i got out before the savage markdown and i have been tempted to get back in but until the cost per ounce is known i will remain out for now! sorry jeanesy :-) | mattjos
29/7/2020 20:02 | Bashirov went to Zero Reported Holdings on 6th October 2015. The day that was RNS’d there was a huge wave of buying in the stock but, it still failed to gain traction as Cantor Fitzgerald were still camped on the Offer. What became apparent was that Bashirov had sold the tail of his holdings to Cantor and Cantor we’re still shelling them out to the market off their own book. We guesstimated that he’d likely got shot of the tail to Cantor for approximately 4p. At that time i was digging deep into Khagani Bashirov and not liking at all what i was finding. He had been / was involved in a money laundering case with accomplices from Banks of Azerbaijan. He was director of several companies in London and there were all interconnected with multi-million £ inter-company loans. We subsequently found out he was arrested and tried to fraud. Since that date, there has been no Holdings Declaration by any third party other than Director. Eg. Steve Westhead. If I recall John Monhemius also made a declaration when he switch a chunk of his stock into his ISA at around 5p .. that was a canny move as he would have a paper Capital Loss on hips trading account and all the upside & divis since have been free of tax. Anyway, 30x increase in the share price since Bashirov went to Zero & still no Holdings RNS? Really? Shares go up on buying and for a 30 fold gain to have taken place, there must have been a lot of buying. However, this is AIM and no one polices it ... I have no doubt whatsoever that there will be some individuals who have breached the 3% level at some points in time over the last 5 years. All too easy to hide behind companies & nominee accounts etc. At the last count, of posters who i know and trust, there was circa 8-10% here & probably more so, AAZ Thread contributors - we could be a concert party if we ever chose to be | mattjos
29/7/2020 19:41 | @IamBV - i was more a Greenwood & Earnshaw man. Can't remember the author for organic chemistry but the book was black and very, very thick! Physical chemistry was always Atkins... | polaris
29/7/2020 19:36 | Thanks FED Looks like $2000 will go in short order. | bonio10000
29/7/2020 19:30 | @gf1 I wasn't around then but plenty posting now were . I had a quick look through the old RNS' s and gave up after 11 with Bashirov's name on them .Last one for 3.96% in Oct 15. That must have been one slow train crash. | friendzarin
29/7/2020 19:23 | Hello Polaris, "Vogel" eh? Now that, for me is also a name from the past. We appear to belong to the same club, but the start of my career was dominated by the texts of "Finar" and "Roberts and Caserio" rather than "Cotton and Wilkinson". It is funny that I have spent my whole working life in organic synthesis, but now my main chemical interest is gold and other metals, rather than the chemistry of carbon. BV | iambv
29/7/2020 19:03 | Well it seems that Matt is not about to answer my question regarding if that forced seller had his holdings being RNS. Anyone else still posting here from that time remember if it was or wasn't RNS? Seems Cinoib was, but he is sulking and has me filtered. He still sticks around though even though he has sold as he has confirmed in his last post. But he can never miss the chance to add a negative point to all his posts. What he also forgets to mention is he has bought and sold on many occasions. But he spins around that. | gold finger 1
29/7/2020 16:49 | BUR now above its 200 MDA. Also see that it's due to list in US (dual listing).Has anyone looked at CAPD? Quite under the radar but with big potential I believe. | kfr20
29/7/2020 15:56 | Katsy, was here 11 years but the recent lack of movement in comparison with the gold price verse the rest made me move on though still keep looking in as been in since 22p. | cinoib
29/7/2020 13:59 | Looking at the trades the last few day it looks like the seller has finished? If that is the case Donald could be right. Today could be the last chance to get in at under 160p,tomorrow you will be paying in the 160p + range. But you never know. With no seller in the background its won't take many buys to move this north fast. Those that have been accumulating shares for the past year will not be selling anytime soon, not after its taken them so long to get a decent amount. I wonder if we ever get a holding RNS informing us how many these wealth managers bought? I say that because i am sure Matt said that the forced seller a few years ago, that took the share price down to 4p was never RNS about his holdings. That is from memory, so if i have that wrong i am sorry. | gold finger 1
29/7/2020 12:58 | A couple of moves worth looking at outside the gold space at BUR and EKF. Both look right at significant breakout points | donald pond
29/7/2020 12:32 | MMs figuring out that a load of PIs will have divi money to spend tomorrow. | brasso3
29/7/2020 12:30 | I would not be surprised if somebody paid 160p today and 170p tomorrow. All time highs must be on the way | donald pond
29/7/2020 12:22 | You look at so many other producing gold miners and their SPs have appreciated almost in line with the gold price, then you look here and you see sideways travel for a year and think what's wrong. Granted 2019 was a stellar year, but that rise was based on last years gold price. Sooner or later... | katsy
29/7/2020 12:15 | quite a turnaround today for AAZ .. that's interesting | mattjos
29/7/2020 11:46 | A focus on ten small cap gold miners set to thrive - AAZ and CGNR headline but they only really scratch the surface hTTps://total-market | crazycoops
29/7/2020 11:18 | polaris Thanks for that....good stuff indeed and I will look further tonight. Re PXC.... Copper was their original emphasis but they discovered they had a lot of gold and silver !! They are in a race to put a gold and/or a silver mine into operation pronto.... Idaho is the top rated jurisdiction for mining in the world and they have done most of their ESG work and thus the reagent decision could save them a year....They have one of the biggest copper mines in North America 4 miles over the hills from them so no problems mining around there. They have issued a drilling RNS today showing more gold and silver so the further reagent testing is a very important decision. For Conroy and AAZ I am sure this experience will be watched with great interest for obvious reasons.... IMHO | goldrush
29/7/2020 11:11 | cyanide, not nice and very expensive. If this new method does work it would be a game changer. | gold finger 1
29/7/2020 10:52 | If you are really interested in this type of thing then i suggest a read of 'Vogel', on 'Quantitative Chemical Analysis'. I used this text a lot as a young post-doc to devise routes to recover different metals from solids for re-use. In the modern world of looking to recycle effectively and in as green a manner as possible, there is a lot of work based on the general methods presented...and a huge number of patents flying! | polaris
29/7/2020 10:44 | Hi goldrush - interesting stuff. The company name maybe gives an insight too...that they were originally using the ATS route for copper extraction? You can also use thiocyanate, which is 'better' than cyanide. The only disadvantage of ATS will be whether there are other metals in the mix, particularly copper, iron and chromium (to a lesser extent, zinc, nickel and lead). You will not be able to read the report unless you have an access via a university, but the abstract will give the gist. There is quite a lot of stuff out there if you search 'thiosulfate recovery precious metals' | polaris
29/7/2020 10:43 | Matt Around this price I am sure my dividend will be reinvested here !! | goldrush
29/7/2020 10:38 | Dividend Pay Day tomorrow i believe. Hopfully that may see some re-investment. | lurcherslife
29/7/2020 10:37 | As the price of gold continues its longest run since 2011, closing above the previous record intraday high of that year of $1923, we look at Ten small cap gold miners that look set for a golden run...#AAZ #CGNR #CHF #COBR #ECR #GWMO #GUN #KAT #PALM #POWhttps://total-ma | burtond1
29/7/2020 10:24 | There could be a large sell which has not been reported yet but I suspect its the MMs trying to generate a bit of interest on a quiet day. edit - I should say though you need to know what the level 2 position is to know how many are on the bid and offer. | c0lin1 |
